Ever since I bought my car a few months ago, my car had the ever-so-common clock light problem where the digits don't light up. Well, the other day, I started the car and the clock was illuminated in all its glory. It stopped working on the next time I started the car, so I tapped gently on the side of the bezel where the CD player is mounted (on the passenger side) and it lit up again. It's been doing this reliably now for a week. Now it's part of my start-up routine. Start car, tap clock bezel, put it in reverse and go.
Just thought I'd post this so others with this problem can try the tapping thing and see if it helps. Obviously, the real fix is to find and correct the loose connection, but this works nicely in the meantime.
