I just posted pics in the members ride section,i have 20% all the way around plus the winshield strip..If i was you thats what i would stick with, cost me $185 cash with no warranty as its illegal in Oklahoma(but never get messed with)

wow thats cheap. i paid almost $200 on 3 different cars w/lifetime warranty. DONT GET 30% thats like having a tad of difference and you easily see in it during the day. IMO i would do different.

Either 20% in front windows, and %15 in back or 15% in front with 5% in the back (wut i have). ive only gotten 1 ticket in 3 years on my old 4 door SE. none so far on my gt and its a white car

Here is our Altima with 35% up front and 20% in the rear. And no, you can't see right in on the 35%.
Case in point, my wife is sitting in the driver seat during these photos but your wouldn't have known if I didn't mention it.

Sure it's not limo tint, but honestly, I think pitch black tint looks aweful. Not to mention at night there is a big difference seeing out of 35% and 20%, go with anything darker and it just gets worst. Safety is why dark tint is illegal in most states.

I have 35% on all the windows except windshield on my 98 GAGT and trust me on some of the side streets around my neighborhood without streetlight is is difficult enough to see out. I sometimes have to roll my window halfway down just to see if I'm going to nail a jogger. ;)

In the case with the pic you posted, you're exactly right. I didn't know there was anyone in there. At certain angles, you can't see inside. In other angles, you can make out silhouettes. Below is my car with the 32% windows all around and strip. Later, QD.

Here is my whip with 50% in front and 15% in back. This pic doesnt show the 50% windshield i got about two monthes ago, havent had enough time to take pics since it is messy here cuz all the snow. But I do kinda plan on going darker not sure but gives ya an idea. btw boost ur car looks nice with 20 all around.

wow realized how crappy these pics come out haha. anyone know how to make em come out more clearer on my camera. It is an Olympus.

^ See I'm not liking the 50/15 combo, too much of a difference between the two. I would have gone 50/35, 35/20, 20/15, ect.

Boost21 and QD both of yours look good.
It all depends on where the light is if you can see in or not. Kind of like looking into a house window. If it's dark inside the house and light out you wo't be able to see in easily. If it's dark out and the light is on inside you can see your hot female neighbor getting out of the shower without a problem... Um, I mean te glass is more transparent.

On behalf of Boost21, we'd like to thank you, lolol.

And you're completely right about the lights coupled with angles. Like the car below mine is 20% and looks lighter than mine in a couple of shots. Later, QD.

Here in ontario..you can put your back windows and read windsheild window as dark as you want...but the front sidewindows can only be a certain %%%%.

I'm getting my car tinted this weekend...going pretty dark and getting the top stripe done aswell. A freind of mine has a Cavalier and has both the top and the bottom done and it looks good outside aswell as when youre driving during the day, does make shit sometimes quite hard to see at night and also when you turn corners (to see the curb and such). I was thinking about getting the bottom stripe done on my car...does anyone own a grand am with this done...or has anyone ever seen one, if so let me know what it looked/looks like to ease my decision and would be appreciated, thanks.

:shake:
Not too safe for driving at night I'll tell ya.

My friend's (bluez) Escalade has the windshield tinted, but it was a Florida truck and it was purchased that way. Might look good but for a daily driver its not the smartest thing to do.

also, see if the tinting place can use a vinyl on the dot matrix on your rear windshield. if you do not use a vinyl, your tint will look like crap. the vinyl looks very good and it only reduces your vision out your back windshield just a little. its what i have on mine and ive gotten many compliements on how good it looks. see if you can get that :D

My Grand Am didn't have vinyl on the back window and it turned out great. Only maybe the very 1/8" at the top showed any signs of white unstuck areas. However we had our Altima tinted at the same shop and it looks horrible. The owner of the shop does great work so I asked about it. He simply said the Dot matrix is horrible. Most the time it won't look prefect. His best way of doing it is using a hardcard with a nappy cotton towel wrapped around the edge. Using a heat gun from the outside pushing up and out at a sharp angle with the hardcard/towel. The little nap of the towel helps get in and around teh dot matrix better, but he said it's not always that easy. The worst is when half a back window comes out good but the other half looks aweful. It's mostly a game of luck.
