Friend finally Dynoed his Grand National

Video is coming soon...but the dyno shop was having issues. they couldnt get an accurate reading of the RPM and it cut out at 5k. well at 5k he did 580hp to the rear wheels. the HP was increasing at 100hp/1000rpm, and its tuned to run at 6k, so we figure at least 680-720hp @6k rpm.

we did the dyno at west coast corvette.

Buddy of mine has one and it has about the same hp. Awesome cars.

it has about the same hp? this is the 7th fastest grand national in the nation. it runs 9.65 @140 mph in the 1/4.

i assume you are talking about 564 hp to the wheels. theres plenty of those.

Let me look up his track times. He's got an oversized turbo and intercooler, injectors, 3 in exhaust system, high flow fuel pump. Has an alcohol setup and a racing transmission. I'm sure that's not everything. I'm pretty sure he's around 500+ hp.

Had to put slicks on it too. He ordered some 10in wide GN wheels and put some Mickey Thompson street slicks on.

He use to be on turbobuick.com quite a bit. He got a divorce and moved back up North. But we still e-mail one another. I'll let you know.

My friend's ride times are 1/4 11:43@118. Not nearly as fast as your friend's. Think I got a pic somewhere of him doing an 1/8 mile run at Piedmont Raceway. I'll post it if I find it.

yea one of the other guys a chill with dynod at 555rwhp and runs the 1/4 at 10.60 so your friend might be in the low 500hp mark...still cool for a v6. :D

sick grand national, my freinds grandma has one and has bout 4000 miles on it. She babys the hek out of it. It is ALL stock and when i mean ALL it is ALL, the tires and everything except for the oil. She drains the oil out every summer and puts new oil beginning of summer. Very nice car u friend has. Pretty sick looking.
