yes, but its still referred to as upper and lower...well at least at rsm they say ported upper and lower intake manifold.

Yeah, you have a V6 thus the upper and lower, but the guy that asked has an L4 which just has a single manifold.

if you have a 3.1 or whatever they call it.. you can upgrade to a 3.4L upper and lower piece... and well the throttle body will show you the most gains..

hey 1995grandam, youve gotta give us more than 1/2 hour to answer your questions. youll notice a difference if you do it all, but if youre just gonna do one thing then do the throttle body.

If you don't know the answer you're not likely to respond. Have some patience!!! :shake:

If you're ordering from RSM why not ask them about the gains?

12 to 25 hp at the flywheel, more upgrades more horse...

What's the largest TB I can buy, at a shop, that you know of, before I go shopping, and can one be dismantled and made even bigger on the bench?? Thanks.

I dont know if anyone cares, but I ported my intake manifolds on my old 2.8 auto Beretta, and dropped .25 seconds off my ET by doing so (went from 16.3's to 16 flat-16.1). Thats a significant gain if you ask me. Porting pretty much gives you the best bang for the buck next to boost/nitrous.

I would not buy them. a waste of money from rsm. All you need is a little common sense and a dremel with a metal bit and scribe where the gasket lays and start grinding.
I noticed a little difference. after porting the manifolds.
I would also try to get a 3400 manifold then port that.
A TB will give you a little HP maybe 5-8

I disagree, but you enjoy playing with your Dremel :)

yeah good luck porting with a dremel...you'll finish the project in like 12hrs of labor. Use an air die grinder, then do the polishing and port matching with the dremel.

i think you're all overestimating. you'd be lucky to get 12hp from the 3400 manifolds/TB, which are much bigger than any ported old gen 3100 manifolds, and it'd be cheaper to swap them than to buy ported manifolds from RSM. look, the newer model 3100's list at 170hp - that's 15hp more than your old engine, and the essential difference is that they have roller fulcrum heads and 3400 manifolds ( they're exactly the same as 3400's, minus the lettering ). so say upgrading the top end would give you 15hp. there's no way that porting the first 3" of the old style 3100 manifolds is going to get you 12hp. probably half that.

i say those manifolds & TB will be the most expensive 6hp you ever buy.

Stop resurrecting dead threads if you aren't going to bother reading them. The RSM manifolds were already mentioned in this thread.

If you search and read more, you'll find even more options, such as Milzy, etc.
