Alright..I got a red GAGT. I'm about to have her tinted pretty dark on saturday. The look im going for my car is red and black compliments(tint, rims...and such). Buying new headlights tonight but need help and opinions...I suck at deciding.
The headlights I'm kind of in the process of purchasing are used clear corners...would they look good with a color like red? Would they look good if I tinted them myself (have u seen it done?)
I can get tinted JDM black amber corners for about the same price. Im thinking because orange is not too far from red(+ the tint that already comes with it), that it may look better than a clear corner. What do you guys think?
IMO clear corners and chrome tails are for silver cars, white cars and even black.
Im just wondering what would look better for my red car w/black accents
New aftermarket JDM black w/ amber corner
or
Used clear corners
or
used clear corners w/tint

What's the price of the headlights? I'd take clear corners instead of amber reflectors 99% of the time. This is chrome/clear on red (56K no):

Just so you know Dan, that's my car that my brother posted up there, I took the pictures last night just for you to see. My car's gonna have a red and black theme too, just haven't gotten the weather or circumstances to finish buying everything for spring.
It says you have HIDs? Did you fab those into the headlights, or did somebody else? If you do a lot of night driving, I wouldn't tint the headlights, unless the HIDs are bright enough to shine through the tint easily. Once you get those clear chrome headlights, practice tinting your old headlights and see how the HIDs shine out of there, it'll let you experiment with how many layers will look dark enough while still letting a good amound of light out.
I personally don't like the look of tinted lights on red GAs simply because the red is such a bright shade, but to each his own. Post pics when you get them, I'm sure they'll look good no matter what path you choose.

Black housings on a red car looks nice...a friend of mine had a red one with black housings with clear corners and it looked very agressive.

IMO i would go with the clear housing clear corners like Mike posted above me. And i WOULD NOT tint the headlights. If you look in the member rides section, there is a girl in there that tinted her headlights and it came out looking lie crap IMO. I say if you want tinted headlights, then buy the black housings then. You can even look into buying headlght covers

Just so people know, since my headlights are dirty and the pictures suck because it was dark and the flash screwed with them, Mike and I have the same headlights, chrome with a clear corner.

That looks pretty nice actually. I wont get tinted headlights, but I'm getting them with the black housing...which is a clear lense and just the housing is a black chromium finish which to my eyes shouldnt effect the brightness much...i know that chrome housings make the best lights cuz it reflects better...but the black housings are still pretty shiny. If you think/know otherwise, let me know, i wont think its rude..i just dont know **** all...im just "assuming".
Yes, I do alot of night driving...I'm all over the province for my job, I'm an Ironworker, working on rebar with bunch of jobsites all over ontario so im always on the road, thats the reason I got HIDs cuz my stock lighting sucks and i want new headlights cuz my stock ones suck and i want an aftermarket look aswell...I havent installed my HID kit yet...its still in the box in my room...making me all excited.
I wanted the black housings because...I seen what my taillights looked like w/ a chrome finish and im throwing a dark tint on those...it didnt match my black and red look at all..so i didnt want to make the same mistake w/ the headlights so I figured at least make the housings black so it kind of compliments the black and doesnt look too chrome-ish and then im once again stuck having to throw a tint on it like my tails or buy something else.
I dont think the black housing w/clear lense will reduce any distance or brightness to my HIDs...but then again...wtf do i know? If anyone has an answer to that, let me know..."Will black housings headlights w/clear lense reduce any light,(distance or brightness)from my HIDs?"

I scrapped the tinting idea so like I said in the post above, I'm just gonna get clear corners w/ black housings.
Will black housings headlights w/ a clear lense reduce any distance, brightness, look or any lighting for that matter of my HIDs?

 Its okay man, it happens all the time. As far as the light output on the black housings, Jay (BlackGT2k) had Black housing headlights on his old GA and then switched to chrome housings headlights on his new GA (Both 5th Gens) and he said he had noticed a bit of difference over the chrome and the black housings. The chrome housing reflect more like then the black housings. And he has 6000k HID's. I have 8000k with black housings and im not complaining about the light output. Its 10x better than factory.

yeah...no doubt. I just found out if i want it brighter I can just change the bulbs to 6000k...I thaught i would have to get a whole new kit.
I also thaught the black housings was just like a chromium black...but i now see what it is. Im gonna try it out and if im disatisfied with it ill just put it up for trades for a clear set im sure someone will be willing to trade for a brand new set.

i have a red ga, and had the clear corner black housing headlights, before i got into and accedient and broke one of em. Personally they made my car look very aggressive... I had a 6000k hid kit in them, i loved the light output in them but it doesnt compare to the headlights i have now, these ones had hotspots... but now i got Boosts old retrofitted HID projectors :D The light output is so much better but then again i payed a lot more than the black housing with clear coners :D
I say you go with the clear corner black housing, if i didnt have my headlights right now thats what i would have but i personally love my light output and angel eyes :D

The only bad thing about that is the bulbs are $80.00 a peice

Yeah I know its a little pricy...I would only change the bulbs if I got complaints from cops or something....Im not to worried but its good to know that I can just change them.
