and how hard are they to install...do you take off the orignial pillar parts and replace, or do these go right over the ones you have?

thanks guys.

If they replace the ones that are already there i don't know how to get the one attached to the door off. If i knew i would have just sanded and painted them instead of getting an overlay. But they look pretty cool

"The Door Pillars are self-adhesive with 3M backing tape"

It seems that you take the original pillar off and attach this one on with 3M tape.I have seen these on a black car before and i do think they add a nice touch. IMO they look best on black cars ONLY

I like that they are real carbon fiber, but they look like crap. Look at the top and bottom of them, they don't even look like they line up with the car correctly.

I have a set of uncoated CF pillars similar to these from a diff company. They look fine, havent had a problem with them but would look out of place if you have no other CF IMO.

Spend the money elsewhere I would say.

You could also sand and spray.

I'm in the garage right now on my wireless and I just got my set it...it looks as if they could just go overtop...they have no edges for the little corners..its bassicly just a sticker..its 1 dimensional...no corners or edges. I'm wondering if I take the original pillar off.

These is the main instruction: Begin peeling off the back of door pillar part before applying the part. Handle parts from edges to avoid finger contact with the adhesive.

I may not know much but I cant see having to peel off the original door pillar cuz the backk isnt a smooth surface its bare metal with cinkles in it and different elevations and its carbon fiber so its not flexible like a sticker but thats what it looks like..its just a trim same shape as the pillar...but no edges or curves...same charactersitcs as a sticker.

I would really appreciate some help...im kinda stuck and dont wanna do the wrong thing.

Dude. You just stick it over the existing pillars. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes IF that. RTFM!!!

Make sure you have it lined up because the 3M adhesive is extremely sticky- once it's down you'd have a helluva hard tiem getting it off.

lol

Cmon now. I see your point but for some of us the black pillars got super FUBAR. I would have opted for black in his case with no other CF on his car, but on mine they work great. :D

For now it will be the only carbon fiber on my car. I'm buying the GTX CF hood from www.cf-tec.com. The one thats discontinued on customgrandam.com. My black pillars are chipping and corroding so I thaught I'd go with the CF since I'm buying the hood in less than a month. I was thinking aboutI like the SC/T style hood cuz I like how it makes the front end look alot thicker..but I love the idea of the 2 tone mixing red with CF. All the accesories I added and am about to add (tint, headlights, tails, rims...ect.) are black to give the red car black agressive look. Plus that hood isnt all out with big scoops, it has the little scoop for the air filter. I was also thinking about getting the trunk and taking the wing right off. I found one on ebay but I heard they have fitment issues.

And about the door pillars...I originally thaught they just went ontop but what it said at the starting of the thread about taking them off and I've read before too a long time ago on here something about taking them off. I came on here to double check but all it did was make me second guess. Do these actually look good? (put aside the fact tha i have no other CF and my cars not black, do they look cheap? Can you get ACTUAL door pillars in carbon fiber and not stick on? )

oyur not saving any weight, your actually adding some lol cause they are overlays. hahaha

they look kinda cool, but sikmindz has a point, if there is no other CF they will look out of place.
