I'm sure this must have been asked before, but I didn't find anything when I searched. So, is there any form of clear climate control knobs? Does a company make them, or does another year/model have clear ones (or at least not red) that are compatible with our cars?

I'm all for interior mods, but red just doesn't fit in my color scheme :P . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!

Nope, not unless you do something custom to make other knobs like 99+ GA's or Cavi's to fit, there is nothing out there for ya.

I had figured that'd be the case since I've never seen any. Guess I'll have to do the skinless mod to the knobs.

I appreciate the info, and the quick response nice96gt!

NP...I tried to do it back when I had my GA but couldn't find anything that was an easy swap.

I bought 2001 monte carlo hvac knobs and peeled the rubber off. the only modding you gotta do it turn the little metal clip around and sand down the butt piece but it takes a total of like 5min per knob.

I assume he didn't read the thread, but I thought I would ask anyway.

Darn, it's too bad that won't work for my gen. I appreciate the info though sk8rjess, as one of these days I plan to move up to a newer model. Perhaps I'll get to use that idea in the future, but it looks like I'll have to go red for now.

I have a 97, all I did was peel the rubber off by boiling them, not so easy but doable. I then sanded and painted the knobs black, clear coat on top, and scraped off the line that is raised to indicate the position of the knob. When this is done, the line is white and glows white when the lights are on. Not a hard mod, but nicer than the grey rubber.
