I have a 04 Grand Am GT. I can't seem to find any great exhaust tips online. I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations? And where I can order them from.

I have some oval reactive tips on mine. Nice stainless steel. Make sure they are stainless. Chrome just rusts in the winter.

No problem , go for it. You don't live close to me so as long as there isn't another Grand Am driving around me with them I'm cool with it. The second I saw them I knew that's what I wanted. They fit perfect and are totally hot.

I sure did!!!. And I love the look. Also going to take the center bar out of the front bumper this spring, and add mesh in there. I think.

To tell ya the truth I used a sharp knife with a seraded (spelling?) blade. You can see the cuts unless you look under the bumper.

and I know all of you are going to say that they stick out too far, but if you look at them from the side they stick out so the end of them are the same as the end of the bumper.

I've decided to go with the 3" Hedmans. I'll have them around the end of Jan. or the begining of Feb.

Looks like I ran into a problem with the old exhaust system. Did the people who changed their tips have to change their entire exhaust system too?

do you have the stock GT muffler? I think it would be hard to put new tips on them, since the stock tips are part of the muffler. Well they look like they are. been long time since I seen a stcok muffler.

DF2Godfather
01-25-2008, 05:06 PM
Ya I still have the stock. Problem is that on one side the tips are connected but on the other they are seperated. So for a temporary fix im getting 4 single tips. Until I can find a new exhaust system thats pretty cheap. Any ideas on a cheap exhaust system?

Blackhawk

Typical is a Flowmaster 80, you can get it welded on the stock piping.

I like the squared off look of mine, they really go with the car's body lines:

A cheap cat-back is the Pace Setter exhaust system

MXculture

do these cheap exhausts actually give you a better sound then stock? I think I might go pick up a cheap cat back muffler with split rear and get some nice tips.

A guy I used to work with baught some tips for his truck some cheap car place...and he couldnt get it on too far...we were using wood and a hammer so that it wouldnt damage the tip. His muffler comes out the side and not the rear...that thing was like a pedestrian killer....it stuck out like a foot for that day until he cut it to look good, cuz there was no way he was getting that thing off.

I would have chosen those Hedman's too; or that style, anyways..... I like the dual tip, angled look.

But I'm an old man and behind the times, lol...
