Ok not sure If I should post this here. It was a apperence mod at first, but I took it to the next level. First off, I never liked the GA shifter handle, and I wanted my shifter a few inches lower. I removed the shifter from the car.

I then cut the shaft down 3 inches. I threaded it so I could make my hurst ball knob screw on. Then I welded a small pipe to the tab that is above the spring for the park and reverse lock out. THen I filed down the lock between the D and 3, so now I can go from N all the way down to 1st with out pushing in ( or in my case now pushing down the botton). I still have the lock out for reverse and park, but I never have the car in park. put it in N and set the park barke all the time. Here are some pix of it with my test fit with a old boot I had here. I ordered a new reactive boot with a stainless trim ring and stainless plate to go around it.

As you can see I didnt have the push down botton in the right spot. I just bent it to where it felt good for my thumb to use it. I'll post pix when I get my custom shifter knob on and the new shifter boot. sorry about the mess and bad pix, but its winter and COLD out.
