Hey guys...have been getting into the hole carbon fiber look w/ the red car after seeing a pic on custongrandam.com.

Saw the hood, liked it alot. I just recently found a carbon fiber trunk on ebay:

Thats the link. I can picture the hood and the trunk looking pretty good together...but...they are not from the same place so this is what im trying to find out from you guys. Are all carbon fiber patterns the same? Is there a chance I could get stuck having 2 different patterns of carbon fiber and it looking dumb? Let me know...i think this is going to be the next thing I add to my car.

Yes all the carbon fiber have the same pattern. Unless it's Fake. Personally i would'nt buy the CF trunk off Ebay. There have been members that bought them and have had nothing but problems with them (Fitment, Water Damage, Leaking) And the CF hood with the scoop on that guys GA on CustomGrandAm.com is Discontinued.

No complaints for the half dozen or so members I know with CF trunks from different vendors so not sure where you heard that from. Generally almost all the companies receive parts from the same parent company so there's no difference. You have two choices depending on what you can find for trunks: with or w/o the third brake light.

There are different weaves of carbon fiber.

There are different weaves of CF but most companies use weaves that are similar; that you can't help. What you have to watch for is their finishing- I highly recommend clearcoating the CF you have regardless of a gelcoat or whatever resin companies are using.

Sucks to hear that hood is discontinued..I was planning to buy it this week...****! I wanted the whole hood+trunk CF look...i think it would stand out and look pretty sharp...so long as everything matched pretty well. I mean even if there was a weave difference you'd have to really stare because they are at 2 different areas and not beside eachother...

If anyone knows a good place to find another CF hood or trunk (preferably hood) just as nice as the customgrandam.com hood, let me know with the site and such and it will be very appreciated.

All of them should be in production but just backordered.

Importfan doesn't load anymore and nothing was found on a quick Google search, and neither does Makemykit. RSM/Z-Spec doesn't seem to do cf trunks anymore.

Grounddynamics.com has nice hoods...but I dont want a big hood scoop...but I dont want OEM look...that little scoop on the customgrandam.com was perfect look...the other ones I find would be overdoing it cuz I dont have a body kit and dont really plan on getting one anytime soon...and even if I did I still loved the look of that hood...

I dont know if its my computer but a few of the sites werent even sites.

RSMracing.com takes me to weird "turbocharger" sites w/ a seach engine template...and when I click "PONTIAC" or any link for that matter it brings me to search results as if I would have searched "Pontiac" on google. I search it on google...tons of sites and forums talking about it...but no actual site.

Importfan.com brings me straight to google and does the same as the JSM when I search importfan.com on google...talks about it but no site found when you look at the adress at the bottom of the scription.

I found the hood on z-spec.com but it only shows me the OEM picture...but says u can order OEM or "ducted" for an extra 150$...but it doesnt show you the picture...so ur getting ur hood ducted who knows where and what kind...

There are only so many pre-existing CF hoods for the GA: OEM, SC/T, w/ the duct over the intake box and now an Evo style one.

The "GTX" by CF-Tec is the one you're looking for. You want it, you email them for the pic.

No... carbon fiber cloth is available in several different weave patterns (E.g., plain, satin, twill, etc) and weave sizes. Some examples here:

Those are questions to ask the company before ordering CF parts.

MX, RSM didn't work because they renamed themselves Z-Spec to get out of some warranty troubles or something to that effect.

I've mentioned this before in some threads but for the people that dont know and wonder why I ask to post pictures and other stuff...its because my computer is a total peice of crap...this is bassicly the only site it lets me go on without any troubles...and even then I dont see all the pictures, I have to right-click on it and go "save target as". It wont even let me on most sites for 5 mins before having an internet explorer mistake...I cant even get into my hotmail anymore and with work and all I dont have the time to go to the library and go use a computer to look at car stuff on the internet...I'm not made of money and cant really afford a new computer with my stupidly high monthly insurance and cant afford to order the wrong parts, ill try emailing them and finding out...thanks for your patience and time guys, much appreciated.
