Hey guys, I just registered on here so I thought that I would introduce myself. My name is Alan, I drive a 2003 Grand Am GT-T. I am not sure what numbers are quite yet because I have had to take the motor apart to remove a broken stud from the head. Here are some pictures of my work in progress, "Project GT"

Man that intake pipe hangs awfully low. NM is mostly flat but I would be afraid to go near any incline. Glad to have another boosted GA though.

Yeah, I am in quite a bit of debt with this project but as soon as Im not I am gonna have some thing done about that pipe

I thought your user name was LoboMan7409? Why make a new one?
Nice setup though

Any info on the install? Where did you get the manifolds?

Oh shit....this is loboman. I completely forgot. I really wish he would just man up and apoligize for that big stunt. Would go a long ways towards restoring his credibility.

Yes I am sorry for what I did, it was wrong but it's not like I am trying to hide from anything, I just thought LoboMan was a gay name so I changed it to this, just like I did on all the other forums. Cheating and what I did was wrong and I am paying for it by not being welcome to GAGT.com but I am hoping we can put that behind us and give me a fresh start here.
About the kit, its the HP kit, I bought it used from a member on GAGT and had every thing recoated to look good as new.

Thank you Eric, I appreciate that and I wont blow it this time. I just got the head back from the machine shop so I am gonna be putting it together and getting some numbers

Looks really good. how much boost are you making? and have you had any tranny problems yet?
Alan_L

Haha, I am gonna be running 10 PSI, as for the trani problems, I drove the car from where I installed the kit to home and that was untuned so I didn't go into boost, but I am expecting problems which is why Milzy and I are discussing a 6 speed swap for my car.

im not bashing boosting your car...but that clusterf*** of piping under the hood really turns me away from boosting my car..

It actually isn't a cluster****. I can see everything quite clearly with no confusion right under the hood. Perhaps he could have done all the lines and such in a tidier manner so that everybody can oooooh and ahhhhh, but I don't think that's the point. The car does drive and when he starts making some decent power he'll blow up his tranny which is a more important thing to be worried about and thinking about. :)

I didn't say i couldn't locate something if i was looking for it.
just looks like a cluster**** of wires and piping, that's all i was saying.
but then again we dont have a whole lot of room to work with under the hood.

You could use the turbo kit for the F-bodies. Places the turbo where the muffler is. I think Alan L has one of the cleanest turbo set ups I've seen.

Looking good. All forgiven for the most part here.
Anyways are your UIM and Valve cover powdercoated white?? Like it.
I'll go fully functional over clean any day of the week.

No point in trying to explain that to kids who dont know anything about really modding a vehicle.

Thank you everyone, I am sorry for what I did on GAGT, I cheated for ride of the month and now I am paying for it by not being welcome on there. But I have done a lot of growing up and my forum etiquette has grown a lot. As for the turbo install that is just after I finished bolting every thing up, it is actually totally apart right now because I broke an exhaust stud off in the head. But after all is said and done everything is going to be much cleaner, a lot of stuff will be heat wrapped and everything will be much more organized.
As for the "cluster****" lol Ill admit it was a PITA I had to cut out a lot of the driver side just to get all those pipes running through because how this kit is designed (which isn't the best design but Im hoping its gonna work for me) the turbo intake, turbo out and from the intercooler to the TB runs through the same place and all the pipes are either 2.5 inch or 3 inch so it was hard and took a little bit of ingenuity. I will be keeping updates out there and letting you guys know where I am as far as numbers and project completion.

:???: what is that susposed to mean? i don't know how to mod a vehicle because i would rather have a cleaner looking engine bay? I never said i didn't like how it looked..but it just kinda looks like a mess.

Looks good car overal looks but that turbo setup is killing me that intercooler piping i dont like hanging down like that. I would rather a nice looking car and a nice looking engine bay. But hey you have boost soo thats kool. good looking car too except for the intercooler hanging down.

Well the piping doesn't hang any lower then the SC/T kit so I may go with that or just have some thing else custom made.

Don't know how or what you did (saying you cheated on car of the month or whatever doesn't mean much to me). Bottom line as far as i'm concerned is you leave your shit on the shit site... I don't know you, so no problems here. GAOC ftmfw, always :)
I agree w/ spy and others... clean, functional setup... again downside being that charge pipe, but you could also fix that by getting an AED (or other) front end (or whole kit preferably as just a front end would look silly) and cuttin out that middle tooth. That'll bring the front end down so you won't actually have to move that pipe, and stickin a FMIC thru the bottom of those kits looks absolutely sick

That is actually a good idea. Even just the front lip to kind of hide it. Shoot I would actually paint it black or something like that to make it even more sleeperish.
Is there not anyway you can shorten the charge pipe at all to not make it go at that weird angle?? Maybe if I saw a pic of the car without the bumper it would make more sense why the one end hangs down so far.

honestly it looks like it's mounted to the front clip... to straighten it out he needs to dremmel out some of that bumper to make room for a straight mount, then he'd be fine as well

Hmmm makes a little sense. Still wouldnt mind seeing an uncovered shot of the whole kit and the way the piping is set up.
um guys the design of his intercooler makes for the angled charge piping. It's from the designe of the intercooler. To remedy this and mount it higher he woudl have to cut out the center section of the bumper support like I did in my setup. *granted I had a completeely different intercooler*. You lose the front crush support but then you have an intercooler that fits perfectly.

Didnt know they actually designed the IC like that. Guess they went for function in that move.

How would it be more efficient other then him just not having to cut into the car? I mean I do like what they did under the hood, it just looks like a cluster because well there isnt a lot of room under the hood of a 3400.

Ahhh gotcha. I wonder how much a difference that makes though. Im interested to see what he churns out compared to the other Turbod 3400.

if the motor is built, and the tranny is built, and the car is tuned properly, *cough*cometovegasandcall*cough* then he'll be capable of snapping me off.
