My 94 GTP

well i decided since the grand am is away for the winter i would get a nice dd and winter car when i found a 94 gtp. black fully loaded with leather sunroof everything. 140k miles no rust just needed a waterpump. i got it for 950. here are some pics ill post more up later

the 94 GP GTP's are turbo charged right 3.1L or something?

na ther a 3.4 DOHC i think it was 210 or 215 hp stock. i do have to admit that it might be faster then my grand am.

ealry 90's they had the turbo grand prix wich was a 3.1 turbo. i also think there was a STE version that was a 4 door turbo charged 3.1. hp diff between the turbo 3.1 and the 3.4 dohc was not that diff.

The 3.4 DOHC was capable of so much more, but the transmissions couldn't handle it so they had to de-tune it.

thanks im trying to learn about this motor and all the mods that can be done. it just a dd but i do want a exhasut amd cai on it atleast. in the summer ill throw my black rims from my grand am on it for some good looks.

You're thinking of the McLaren Turbo GP that the 3.4L Twin Dual Cam replaced. The 3.1L turbo wasn't very potent anyway.

More power yes, but remember that it is also heavier.

1990. I think it was also available in 89.

The later STE could also have the 3.4 DOHC... it just depends which engine (3.1T or 3.4 DOHC) was available that year.

The TGP only had 200 HP... the 3.4 DOHC made more than that without boost.

The 91 GTP has the 3.4 DOHC... should be similar specs. I have a hunch those are typical magazine test times from the 90's. In other words, very conservative launch. Your car should be a very in performance to a 99+ GAGT.
