I have tried two different kinds of chrome spray paint and it looks nothing like real chrome when it dries it looks more like silver
And spray painting rims would be a very bad Idea anyway the paint would not last for any length of time it would just chip off

"Chrome" spray paint looks like any other silver spray paint.

There is spray paint for wheels. Give that a try. It might last longer than regular spray paint. If it chips, touch it up.

He could have them powdercoated too, clean it up yourself and save some money.

Yeah i would look into powdercoating aswell.. It may be more expensive but it will look 100x better than chrome spray paint. And powdercoating doesnt chip unlike regular spray paint would. ;)

I have used chrome spraypaint for non-automotive things before and to be honest, it looks like shit. Plus it has an overbearing tendency to clog, so you'll get splotchy paint.

For rims, powdercoating is a very popular method and it produces very good results.

I had a Camaro with rusting rims. They weren't all that bad, but the rust still came through. Best bet is just get new rims or stock up on lots of spray. ;)
