i just got myself a 93 grand am se and i wanna replace the speakers. i wanna only replace them not add any. what are the best speakers to get both 4x6 and 6x9. price is not a matter. ive been looking at the infinity kappas, but i would appreciate your opinion if they are worth it.
thanks

depends on what you are looking for man. I have a buddy who is looking at speakers for his car and his choice for speakers are the lowest model JL's. Forget the designation for them. But its simply what you want. My buddy wanted these low model JL ones because the higher end models tended to give more bass and he already has 2 12's for his car and he was looking for higher hits

Kappas are real good. If they cost too much, try the JBL's. Infinity and JBL are part of the same company and they have been around quite a while.

ive had pretty good results from kenwood excelon speakers. they 4x6s are pretty nice, and their 6x9s are 3 way and ive been pretty pleased with those as well. the kappas are nice as well.

Jl and alpine make decent speakers.. the mide range and upper range Jl's and the Type R's for alpine will give you the best all around.. besides that..kappa's ive heard are quite nice.

yes kappas, or, if money isnt an issue, then adapt some 6 1/2 "s to fit. youll get better sound hands down, and you can get way better quality speakers, but they get really expensive. some good ones that are coaxial are: Boston Pro series, Boston Z6 (or Z5), eclipse point source series, Boston RM6,...

i found out where too find the Boston Pro series, the Z6 were a little too high (shit!!), but i'll look into the lower model ones and compare it too all the other suggestions i've gotten. thanks for all your help.
