2007 G6 interior lighting

A friend of mine got into a minor accident recently when he came around a blind curve and everyone ahead of him had stopped. The car is fixed now, but he noticed the back lighting for the HVAC system isn't working, along with the lighting for the Park, Drive, Neutral, etc. He doesn't recall, but wonders if the radio controls on the steering wheel used to light up, and the window controls as well? He isn't sure what isn't working since he hasn't had the car very long, the speedometer and radio illuminate. When he turns the HVAC on, the light comes on telling him it's fresh air, but can't tell what fan speed, temp setting or system is on, and the fog light led works. He checked fuses, but didn't see any that were blown, let alone unique to that system. He plans on calling the garage to let them know, but any ideas? He'd like to know what all should be illuminated? I tried looking for pictures on the net to see, but couldn't find much help, maybe a checklist of everything that has and LED and/or is backlit at night would help so he could check everything and see.
