i dont think you're referring to an appearance package. the 6.0s got the dual exhaust and different hood

The 6.0L have and LS2, this one that is pictured above is a 5.7L LS1...

the 6.0L are the ones with dual exhaust and hood scoops.

it hink hes referring to what i believe is called the SAP kit, it was an optional kit for the GTO that was more aggressive. very few people ordered it, and its no longer available.

yes all gtos from 05 i believe on up have the dual exhaust, 04 had a single exit exhaust along with 50 less hp but was the re introductory gto.

The automatics+V8 combination isn't so bad.

It really sucks in a 4 cylinder, but in this case it isn't the worst thing that could happen.


Nice car; it's one of the few that I'd say looks good in yellow. There's a Pontiac orange GTO for sale around here... an 05 I believe. If it wasn't so expensive (read: I wasn't so poor), I'd own it.

Glad to see other GTO fans on here, we have a black 04 with only 4,000 miles on it, Put the 05-06 hood on it, side skirts with side exit exhaust and black tails on it and a few things done to the motor so far. Alot more to do but need wheels first.

well to clarify, all 04-06 GTOs had dual exhaust. in 04 they both came out the same side, in 05,06 they moved one so that it was one on each side. in that same year, they changed from the LS1 to the LS2, and upgraded the front brakes. they also started installing the ram air hoods. in 05 they made the SAP kit available as a dealer installed option. The only change to 06 were the tail lights.

so the +50 hp was due to the engine change, not the exhaust change.

Yea the 04 exhaust was dumb, run duals all the way back then have it come out on one side, doesnt make since to me. Sounded like crap to. That and the 04 hood were the first things changed on our 04. Went with side exit exhaust consisting of Kooks headers and high flow cats and Spintech mufflers. Sounds a million times better than the factory 04 exhaust.

They don't meet Canada's safety regulations. More specifically, they don't have our mandatory 5 MPH bumpers. Because of this, they aren't legal for sale or import in Canada. So I can't even go to the US and buy one and bring it back. :(

I'd probably have one too otherwise.

AFAIK they're only 2.5 MPH bumpers. They had to make changes to the fuel tank when they were produced for the US market. It really sucks that they didn't upgrade the bumpers to allow them into Canada as well. :(
