Hi everyone,
My car makes a creaking (metal on metal kind of creaking) when I go over bumps and going into parking lots, etc. For one thing, it is not constant. I thought it occurred when I make right turns (or any turns, but mostly right), but it does not always make the noise...just here and there.
Now, I live in Minnesota and it is cold, but not too cold to get a car wash. So, I've washed my car and it creaks. Perhaps it's because of the wash + the cold weather? Anyway, it creaks more after the wash, but it creaks here and there under normal conditions.
So, is this normal or is it something I should look into? What could cause these creaking sounds?
Thank you!

It could be your struts. How many miles are on the car? Where is the creak coming from? (Front,Back,Side)

Oh yea. I forgot to tell you that info.
The noises mainly come from the corners, near the wheel wells. It emits from left front, right front, and right rear. There are no knocking noises so I don't think it's a control arm related.
The car has 72,080 miles on it and it is an 03.
Thanks!

It sounds like the struts to me. If you have a mechanic have him take a quick glance at it and see what his opinion is

In sub-30* weather, my windshield sounds like it could pop out at any given bump in the road......

But coming from the corners of the car, I'd guess either struts, or at the very least, bushings-the rubber 'cups' where the springs seat(top and bottom) in the strut ass'y.

I would guess the strut bearing plates, that is what is wrong with mine. More annoying than anything.

I have the same issue with my 03 and my mechanic told me it was the bearing plates. He said they would continue to get worse until they seize up.
