Ive been posting earlier about redoing my heads. It has been over one month since I last worked on the car and am now ready to put the lower intake back on. My problem is I am not sure if my push rods are still in the order they came out. i can see there are longer rods and shorter rods. Is there any way to tell where the short ones go and where the long ones go?

My walkthrough has a picture of the pushrod order
http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74080
check the picture in step 28

should go like this (with L being the long pushrods and S being the shorter ones):

Back of the engine
Passenger L-S-L-S-S-L Driver
------Side L-S-S-L-S-L Side
Front of the engine

edited to correct pushrod order

The intake pushrods are 14.6 cm (5.75 inch) long. (shorter ones)

The exhaust pushrods are 15.24 cm (6 inch) long. (longer ones)

Is the front considered as nearest to the radiator? Not sure if it means anything but the some of the lifter are up higher than others....does this have anything to do or do they change a lot as the engine/cam turn?

From the picture you have on the left it says front of engine but it looks like it is opposite from what you wrote me with one long then 2 short. I'm confused and sure don't want to mess this up. Is there a way to tell intake from exhaust?

when i say the front of the engine i mean what is closest to the engine, good catch though, i gave you the backwards order in my explaination, sorry about that, I have edited it now to make it right

Sorry to ask again but is the front closest to the radiator and the rear closest to the windshied? Some people go by when your sitting in the drivers seat.
