I have a 93' Grand Am GT with 3.3 and I want to put a 3.8 w\supercharger into it, I need to know if this is possible, and how much altering is it going to take?

wow, a girl wanting more power...thats hot...lol

but im not sure it can happen. ive looked at grand prix gtp engines and theyre quite a bit bigger than mine, i just dont know if it would be able to fit in the engine bay, and if you could somehow squeeze it in there, it would take a lot (and i mean a lot) of work. you would be better off trying to swap a 3.1 or a 3.4 grand am engine and then supercharging it.

and if you put the 3.1/3.4 engine in with a s/c, you would be putting out more hp than a gtp engine. i think the older gtp's put out 240 stock, while the new ones are 260. you would be somewhere around 260 with the grand am engine.

Aside from possibly having some hood clearance problems, a Gen I 3800 SC would likely fit. I have no idea about the tranny, etc., though.

No offense to anyone, but I wouldn't buy a turbo kit off of E-bay..That is something that is best left to a shop..

I am thinking that the 3.8 would fit, but you miht have to play with it a little..I know you would need a custom hood. But if you have a 3.3, wich I have never heard of, then I would bore it out as much as possibe, and then SC that..Just get a few componets like Forged Pistons, heads, cams, rods..It would save ya some time and money trying to do that than an engine swap.

your forgetting that she has the 3300 which is a debored and destroked 3800. Just like how the 3100 and 3400 are related. I would say try it. There is a guy over at www.gmperformancetuning.com/forum that did it to his 92 grand am.

performance for the 3.3 is almost non existent. Almost everything you do will have to be custom. Thats why i'd reccomend the engine swap.
