We've got to give the folks at Ford credit for the camoflague (or lack thereof) they've used to conceal the newest mule for the F150-based "Raptor" pickup. Despite the artfully placed stickers on the windows and bumper, nothing can draw attention away from the massively flared wheel arches and lifted ride-height of the off-road mule.

According to a report from Pickuptruck.com (http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/29/report-ford-working-on-f-150-raptor/), the four-wheeled titan will be sporting a Fox Racing-tuned suspension, 35-inch tires and possibly a supercharged V8 pulled from the upcoming Boss Mustang when it's unveiled in the next year or two.

Reminds me of the "Lightning" that they pulled a few years back.

It'd be cooler if they did something similar with the Ranger. I remember GMC having a forced induction Tacoma (Syclone, Typhoon). I just see a full sized truck like that raking in the sales when you can get a turbodiesel for the same price bracket.

Whhhhhat?

The Lightning wasn't a lifted truck at all, wasn't even a 4x4.

And a GMC Tacoma? Since when did Toyota start making GM trucks?

My bad, I meant Sonoma but put Tacoma.

I didn't mean the Lightning to be the same thing, but it's the only production truck I remember Ford putting out that came with forced induction. It looked pretty good too.

Meh. Fender flares are great and all, but I think more should have been done to set it apart. Looks like every other lifted truck.
