I got in a small accident with my car 2 years ago. I had a new front bumper put on. The guys thought it would be helpful to glue the old broken Pontiac Arrow back on :jenny: Now I want to work on getting it off when springs comes around. Any ideas? Also anyone know where I can get a replacement?

:thanks:

I have the same predicament. I have a new bumper without the place for the emblem (I'm guessing they couldn't reproduce the logo for a non-OEM bumper.

I'm just going to airbrush a black and silver one on, so I guess you could have mine after I trace it. It's not in the best condition though... it was bent in two places. If you can't find something else, let me know via PM.

EDIT: it might not even be the same emblem since you have a 5th gen and mine is a 4th.

Advice: Be wary of overlays... they won't suffice as a replacement. Keep an eye on part-out threads, one pops up about every week.

You could see if someone can make you a vinyl replacement arrowhead.

If you actually do have the spot for the emblem, you can get one out of the GM parts direct catalogue. It should be part of the front bumper section.

I found those, it was along the lines of $15 or something. Mine was bent from the beginning, but if you didn't get an OEM bumper you may not have a indented space for it to mount to.

If that was the case, I wouldn't try getting the original replacement. In that case I'd go with Nighthawk's idea to get a vinyl replica that would be thinner and more flexible, making it easier to attach.

You can get OEM emblems on ebay. Use "Pontiac emblem" in the search.

There was a DIY about making a plexiglass emblem and lighting it with LED's.

since you have to take the emblem off anyways to replace it why not make your own with the plexi glass idea. The thread is in the basic appearance mods sticky. I plan on doing this with red leds sometime.

Why don't you make it yourself? Women can cut plastic and solder wires. I've seen some do it!

Nobody was born with knowledge, everything has to be learned.

Exactly. Besides... 12V of electricity isn't gonna curl your hair TOO badly if ya mess something up. {wink}

(*YES I know its the amps that do the curling!*)

Ok I talked to Hubby this AM & told him your idea. He <IMO> was a bit nervous about this
But he said during the summer we could do it together. So is this ok with everyone?
j/k :D

Fine with me.

Come Spring, gather the parts and start cutting and drilling. He'll come running out when the hears the power tools. Before you know it, you'll be bringing refreshments and he'll be getting it done.

That's how my girlfriend gets me to wash her GA.

She starts filling a bucket up with water, dish soap, and a dish rag and grabs a broom. When I see her head for the driveway instead of the bathroom I haul ass.

I just bought my 04 GA from a dealer and it was on a salvaged title, but the only things wrong that were on the title were the front and back bumper, the only thing different now is i have a GT bumper on a 2.2L lol, but also, it doesnt have an Emblem, so i got lucky:) Good luck gettin yours off, looks great when done!
