Got my engine today. The guy sold me a "1500" engine. Turns out, when I took it to the shop, that it's actually an EK-1 (1.8L). Lolol. So now, instead of the massive 62 HP engine I had, I will rise up to the neck-snapping 72 HP. They are going to get it in there next week. Looking forward to this. The couple of pics I have of it are crappy, but pics nonetheless. This is a first gen Accord engine. This was also an engine that was imported over from Japan straight to this person. It was verified by my mechanic that this was true by a couple of parts that were still on it. Later, QD.

I was actually after an original 1500 CVCC engine to put in the car. On the website of the salvage yard, it was listed as a 1500 CVCC. So went and got it. Turned out to be an 81 Accord 1.8L. So it will go in the car instead. Later, QD.

Why does everyone think that B18's are gods gift to hondas?
I know someone with a b16 that runs low 12's.
If you are gonna say anything for the win...that would have to b K-Series motors if you have the money for that project.

the B's series swap is my personal favorite, that's why i suggested it. a buddy of mine swapped out a built B18 for a built D16 and ran a faster time. the B18 simply was too much and spun the tires.

Too much and the tires just spun? Doesn't sound like he to much power to the wheels, he just had to much power to the wheels that didnt grab. Sounds like a tire/suspension setup to me. Sticky tires and a better setup with supsension I'm sure it would of grabbed just fine.

he ran BFG street radials and some set of coilovers, i'm not sure. but he he wanted to keep it a street car as much as possible. he did have a set of slicks for the track and it hooked just fine. all i'm saying is that with the set up he had it ran faster on the street with the D series.
i have to agree with jblack on your sig. that's funny as hell

Is his D series a SOHC or DOHC?

I vote K series, or do a b18 with the b16b heads, decent amount of power from that right there. any route i think the series are great, heck go super custom and swap in a sr20det, hehehe, or a ka22det to your car, well the "t" you have to do yourself but it would be pretty cool. A lot of fabbing too to convert to RWD.

I already bought the engine. I didn't want to swap in a newer engine is why I didn't do it. I am keeping it basically OEM and stock. The only thing not stock will be the ride height. Later, QD.
