is this a new GA? It looks a little different, it isn't the G6. Says it is a supercharged 3400 with 275 HP. I defiantly want one. it is on the pontiac web site

i know exactly waht you are talking about.. Unfortunalty i think they are ending the grand am line and replacing it with the G6.. As for the GXP.. i think that is just concept model.. You can also look at the GP GXP and the Sunfire GXP and all of them inclulde superchargers. but the GA definatly has the most gain available with it being 100 hp more than a GAGT compare to only about 40 more ( i think ) in the sunfire. Id definatly want one too but i think they are only concept models and not sure if they are going to go into production or not.. it would be so sweet if they did

No, I think they are going to make the new 2005 Grand Am more like the g6 concept and it won't be called "Grand Am" ... a load of :shit: if you ask me. I think they should make that GXP and leave the name.... just my two cents. That car rules!!

Its time to update platforms The grand am is a great car dont get me wrong but some structural things need to be updated. But the name change still has me pretty upset:mad:

Ya, I'm not feeling the whole name change either.

Actually, given that so many car companies are going to alphanumeric names, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Grand Am renamed to the "GXP 3.5" or something like that.
They really oughta keep the Grand Am name anyway... it IS GM's second-best-selling car, after all...
And they really oughta do a Grand Am GXP for 2004 if the name really is going away.

That GXP was only a concept car. They already said when they made the GXP announcement that there would be no GA GXP on the current platform. They did say that they wanted to do a GXP on the new platform though, 1 or 2 years after the first ones roll of the line.

Um... I'm still going to refer to it as the Grand Am... if you guys haven't gotten it yet let me let you in on a little secret.
Look at the name G6, the G stands for Grand and the 6 stands for Am.. a 6 looks like a backwards lower case a. It's 1337 man, don't you get it?
heck when we talk about our cars we refer to them as GA's right. Well G6 means the same thing, except it's will be more specific to the next generation of GA's

Actually, I think it's just because it's the 6th gen. Grand Am. Just like the current Corvette is the C5 and the new one C6.
Which doesn't mean they'll keep the Grand name, just that didn't think about dropping it when they developped the concept.
They could still call it the Gremlin :banghead:

Well, what does the C stand for in C5? Corvette right? People still call it the C5 Vette. It'll just be the G6 Am or something. I'm not gonna give up on the name just cause GM is...
