Engine Ticking?

so my engine is making kind of a loud ticking noise, i can hear it in the car, my friend said that the qaud 4 are notorious for lifter noise is this true. I thought my injectors was making that noise but i thought they cant be that loud can they, when i rev it, it ticks faster. It started making this after i took my cams out to fix a previous leak this past fall.

any ideas?

My 3100 ticks off a cold start and when it's sat long enough to lose some of the oil pressure, as soon as it builds again it goes away. I think it is lifter noise and although i'm not familiar with the quad4 I would venture to say that it's probably the same thing.
