IIRC, They dont make a turbo setup for the quad 4

You will need to piece it together. anyways, the HO is not a good boost candidate.

1) Don't try it without a 5-speed swap. Your transmission will be a massive bottleneck.

2) There is not a kit available. Spend a year reading up on what it takes to run forced induction.

3) You are better off buying a new engine or a new car with the 5-speed than trying to mess with your daily driver. You are NOT going to be able to run any significant amount of boost without building up the engine.

Turbochargers are far from a bolt-on mod for most cars. Spend at least a year reading up what the job entails so you know what your goals are for performance and what you need to do to reach them.

I agree. Took me 5 years and I still am not done my custom turbo on my camaro. do lots of reading on what all and I say ALL that needs to be done to run boost.

Unless he swapped an HO motor in which is a bad idea on an auto there is no way it is HO. In 94 it needed to be a GT to get the HO and the HO never came in a automatic transmission. The cams make their power at high RPMs which the auto cannot take advantage of.

That's what I was thinking as well, but so many Quad owners that have the SOHC want the DOHC and swap it out. It's possible, but still not that likely.

I wasn't even paying attention to the auto trans part... *doh*

I looked at his car info under the thing saw "Quad 4 HO" and didn't even bother to look.

why would you say that the HO is not a good boost candidate?

he is probably just talking about the stock compress throw in some forged pistons 9:1 or 9.5:1 and you will be fine.

Hell, stock compression will hold up 8 psi reliably all day long. i'm not boosting my car, but the HO is a great engine to boost.

Were not going by you first post. Were going by your car info that you posted in your vechile profile

Your profile to the left of your post states that you have listed your car as having a HO motor.

Does your engine cover say "Quad OHC?" If so, it is the SOHC version of the Quad engine that produces 120hp. This is more than likely the engine you have.

In that case, don't bother doing ANYTHING performance wise other than simple intake/exhaust mods with that configuration.

The SOHC engine is a dog compared to its siblings. The DOHC HO version was rated at 175-180hp depending on the year.

You can swap in a DOHC or convert your SOHC to a DOHC. I'd recommend finding a vehicle that has a DOHC and a 5speed so you'll have a practical engine+trans combo.
