with wisconsins bitter winter this year I've been constantly having to try to keep the ice build up in check with ice picks or the good ole toe of my boot. but today i noticed that the "cling-ons" had iced over my reverse lights and actualy strip the wire out of the sockets of the light! I know there gotta be an alternative to mud flaps. any body got any ideas?

i have a 2001 grand am SE if that helps

As far as the wires, some jumbo-decent quality heat shrink tubing should work.

the "good stuff" has a sealent / glue inside of it that covers everything when you heat it; preventing ANY moisture form getting inside. combined with the existing insulation on the wires itself this stuff is almost impenetrable.

They started putting rear inner fenders on the Grand Am in 2003. You could probably pick up a set from the junk yard or from the dealer if you're feeling particularly rich. They do a good job of keeping the snow/ice out of that area of the bumper.
