Mantapart $1500? Or here, though I think these are more for show than racing with.

$1500 coilovers are hardly for show. If that is the case, you are majorly taking it up the rear on the price.

There are two types of coilovers. Those like Mantapart, that are real live legit coilovers, costing $1000+. And there are the fake trash by APC, Toucan, AeroSpeed, WeaponR, etc. that usually cost about $200.

i wouldnt recommend the stock strut coilover setup for racing, but I am sure the KYB setup wouldnt be too bad.....dont know though. I have never raced on a track or anything before.

Hey, what's the difference between coil overs and say a set of springs from Eibach? Which is better and what do they do that's different?

Coilovers are adjustable using threaded sleeves with rings that you turn up and down to your desired heighth.(see www.aleroperformance.com in the suspension section for pics) Eibach, Intrax, H&R, and the like are all a set heighth and can not be changed in any way.

So, other than the adjustable height, there's no difference? One doesn't perform better than the other?

coilovers are stiff. usually made for racing.

I don't want to put a huge drop on my car, but I do want better handling performance, not really interested in racing either, which would you recommend then?

These are coilover sleeves, you can add them to any strut/shocks for your car. cheaper version of coilovers and they have somewhat adjustable height. I have them on one of my cars, came with it. its ok but ride kinda sucks, its bouncy.

This would be real coilovers and they cost a whole lot more than sleeeves. The threads are on the strut not on some sleeve and they are built for specific car. Springs and struts are matching and work really good together. Some of them you can adjust dampening for fine tuning. I have this on another my car, I can adjust the ride from extermly stiff to almost stock ride.

Not sure what you meant with that they are built for race! :???:
They are built to lower your car, stiffen it some for better handling now what you gonna do with it its up to you. You can go and auto-x with yoru car or store it in garage and take it out for shows its up to you.

coilovers offer someone w/ a greater degree of adjustability compared to your typical lowering spring.

They allow you to fine tune the handling of the car by being able to adjust a number of variables associated w/ a proper coilover.
