happened to me too. Pontiac dealer didnt have it in stock around here but the chevy dealer did. My car wouldnt run without it. You could try and rig it but if it came off i think the car would die.

well iv patched it using electrical tape lol, the tube broke as you can see right near the intake piece, the break was clean enough that it fit back together, its running currently, no lights, seems to be fine
will be going to NAPA and or the dealership tommorow to see about replacement, not sure if I can buy just the one piece and connect it to the intake piece somehow or if ill have to buy the entire deal
tried to remove the bracket with the two screws ontop but its attached somehow else near the bottom by the throttle cables, hopefully I can replace it myself and dont have to swing by my mechanics (looking like the phoul i am lol)
my day off!! wanted to hook up my big 3 today

IIRC, the tube keeps going after the throttle, that little piece is just to get the crank vapors into the incoming air stream, the other end of the tube connects somewhere else, I just haven't found any reason to figure out where it is, so I can't help there.

well there is some issues happening at the moment with the taped tube. the engine is making a weird turning sound, like a propeller or something, wom wom wom wom wom, increases with engine RPM (this is completely new today after this happened)
also the engine is surging quite a lot, if i rev it to about 1500 in park etc, let the throttle go, it drops to 500 then jumps to 1000 for a second then back down. I can see how that could happen from a vac leak, though as stated yea its for the emissions so im at a loss
the strange sound that seems to increase slightly with rpm is very concerning, I really hope no damage was done and its a result of a crack in this tube (even though its taped some air must be escaping) aswell its resolved once its replaced
have to go to a few places tommorow to get this tube, can anyone think of any reason for that strange womp womp womping sound?

Worst case, just put a little piece of rubber hose on it and clamp it.

well the stealer was the only place to get this exact item, however it wasnt much of a steal, only 13bux......thankfully
very strange about this sound currently, seems to be mostly only present during idle, hopefully its because of this (seems likely as it happened right after this)

x2 for rubber vacuum hose connecting the 2 broken pieces.

ok well changed out the tube today, bit of a beach taking off that bracket that the throttle cables are attached to
sadly....its still making the sound, granted it didnt start making it right away after I broke it, sounded fine at first, after a drive or so I started to hear it...also the strange jump in rpm when settling is still present
I recently had my serp belt changed by my mechanic, was fine afterwards....
the sound is best described I think as a chop chop chop sound, almost like a bad bearing of somesort, but this sound is made while idling in park, idling in drive and during moderate acceleration (different from the howling sound I get when accelerating lol damit)
doesnt surge much more than it does in general, and it sounds more when its cold cause when its warm and idling around 500 it doesnt make the noise as much, its MOST notable right at 1000rpm and you can still hear it at 1500, seems to go away at about 2000, park/neutral/driving doesnt matter
the rpm jump, lets say its idling at 500, bring it up to 1000 to hear the noise real good, let off easy or totally and it drops back to 500(or so), then bounces right back up to a 1000 for a split second then back down
maybe I should make another thread about this? any issue i thought was with the part i broke it isnt or doesnt seem to be, this noise and rpm jump seem to be related...
its most noticable in the cabin, quite noticable, can barley at all hear it under the hood, if i push the throttle somewhat under the hood i "think" i can hear it somewhere around the belt but really its almost impossible to hear under the hood but in the cabin, also when i play with the throttle under the hood and let it go it bounces for a sec then settles (not the throttle but the rpm's)
thanks
peace
