well, i promised you guys i would show you what i ended up getting in replacement of my grand am gt. its funny because i told myself to not do so much modding because what would happen if i wrecked it again. its just a big addiction lol so far heres whats done on it:

note: this car was completely stock. not clean at all, tips all rusted and black, stains on leather and carpet, you know. took many hours of cleaning and changing stuff because whoever had this car definately was not a car person...

-clear corners

-silverstar ultra blue foglight bulbs
-taylor 8mm wires
-ngk plugs and then transferred to bosch 4+ plugs due to ngk engine misfire
-new duralast alternator
-gatorback serpentine belt
-customcargrills mesh grills
-front and rear overlays
-tinted windows 15% front, 5% rear
-polished tips
-debadged sides and rear
-New Mobil 1 oil change,Fram oil filter, air filter, fuel filter,
and ran 2 bottles of Chevron injector cleaner w/ STP octane booster to clean the fuel system thouroghly.
and a serious detail job inside and out :P

d/s R1 concept rotors and pads are going on next weekend along with red painted calipers.

i can get a pic of the lights but its gonnna be blinding. the headlights are hyper white and the foglights are super hyper white with blue.
future mods are slp exhaust, K&N intake, 18" rims, would like to get an slp spoiler or a ram air hood. rotors are going on this weekend and calipers are getting paint.

I might need to talk to you once you are done painting your rotors, I want to do the same.

Thinking of lowering it?

Clean looking ride. I'm not a big fan of that generation Grand Prix, the only attraction I may have to them is the Supercharged 3.8. Any plans on getting a huffer for it? 3.8 with mild mods is good for mid to high 15s in those big cars. Huffer you'll be good to go with mid to high 14s with just a few mild bolt ons.

i could make it supercharged but then i would have to mess with the transmission to make it compatible. never have been into racing at the track so im not too worried about what it runs. im happy with the fact its ALOT quicker than my grand am gt. it gets up and goes.

prolly not gonna lower it. have you seen how low the fronts on these sit to the ground? i can just barely fit a floor jack underneath it to change the oil. whats gonna set the car off is a nice set of 18" five spoked rims.

I severely NEED this 06 SE front air dam http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tm.asp?m=3439478&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1
I've been looking to get the series III wizaired intake as well, been looking on ebay every now and then. I've seen the series II on there quite a few times, which is for your car. I'll PM you if I see it again if you are thinking of putting an intake on it.
As for the calipers, how much work was it? How much screwing around with the brakes does it require (I really don't want to screw them up)?

no screwing lol. all you do is use masking tape and newspaper. just use the newspaper and tape to cover up your rotors and the insides of your fender and around the fender. then use small pieces of masking tape to cover any small parts on the caliper that you dont want painted. i had to put a couple pieces on the exposed part of the brake pad because you dont want to paint them. it can cause braking problems. once its taped off to your liking, just start with your primer. i use spray engine enamel for the primer. do 2-3 coats. then i used the paint-on duplicolor brake caliper kit. did 3-coats of that which is a minimum because the first 2 coats will still show primer underneath because it has to soak into the primer. it will look really streaky and bad at first but thats ok. once you use paint, do 3 coats of clear spray engine enamel and it will add a glossy protective coat over it so its easy to clean later on when you spray them off. if you dont do clear the dirt will just soak into the paint and its hard to get out. also, dont use spray paint caliper paint. its no where near as good as the actual can of paint. its not as durable and the can paint looks way better

Yeah I saw they had links to gmpartsdirect which had it for 173 as well, I was wondering how hard it would be to color match my car (black). I'm not too wild about the idea of painting the whole car.
And dude I didn't even see the interior shots before, that leather looks really really nice!

thats a really nice Grand Prix. real clean inside and nice window tint also. they kept the tail pipes clean to along with the engine bay. all in all, nice buy and keep us updated on the mods that you do.

haha, this car was a p.o.s lookin car before i owned it lol. the tail pipes i had to scrub for a long time and then polished them with turtle wax stuff and steel wool. I actually just put brand new d/s rotors and pads on it today and disconnected the daytime running lamps so you dont see that nasty light during the day time. will post pics after i get calipers painted
