Trying to change oil in my 04 Grand Am, there are several "bolts" under my engine. Anyone know where I can see picture of which one I need to remove to drain oil pan?

If you are under your car it is the bolt at the bottom of the pan (you do know what that is right?) that is towards the back of the car. Essentially it is the lowest bolt on the oil pan...its quite large something like 14MM if I remember right.

You really can't miss it. It's at the back of the oil pan pointed at an angle.

Not exactly sure where the oil pan is. I will try to look at it tomorrow and see what a 14mm will fit. LOL.
Thanks,
Hopefully it will work.

Take a 15mm too, that's what mine uses. Make sure you are looking at the pan under the engine not the transmission.
Generally oil drains are at the rear of the pan near a low part and point down and to the rear of the car.

There's only one thing down there that looks like a deep square metal bucket with a single large bolt sticking out of the back side of it near the bottom.
There's nothing else on the oil pan besides that bolt.

Yep, my mistake, it is a 15MM bolt. Just dont over-tighten it when you put it back in.

...and don't use a fram oil filter. Wix (napa gold), Baldwin, or Hastings. When installing, go 3/4 turn after the rubber seal touches the engine. And spread a little new oil on the seal before putting the new filter in.
I also fill my oil filters with oil before putting them in to keep oil-less run time to a minimum. My Jeep oil filter is horizontal, and I can put a fair amount of oil in there and not spill any.

Purolator filters are very good (Advance Auto has them around here). Supertech is better than Fram if you have to get em at Wal-mart.

I've been using purolator pure-one's for years with no problems.

AC Delco filter ftw. Anyways, I definately agree on the fram filters... avoid the canister style, they're basically just paper end caps... they don't hold up well for extended periods of time.
