Well, last Saturday the drivers side window broke ,then fell into the door.
After a frigid drive down the interstate and 2 hours of dissasembly work, I discovered a part .

I don't have a pic, but it looks like an assembly with 3 rivets, with a white plastic clip thats very broken .

After searching , heres my question: I know you can order the plastic clips as is, but this part looks like the clip + the glass mount .I need a new regulator if the glass mount/clip is broken?

what do you mean by the glass mount?

The part I pulled out has a graphite piece. Its hard to describe without a pic,but judging from the other threads ive seen it looks like the part that attaches the window glass to the regulator.

that's the sash clip. You can get one at a dealership for about 10 bucks, just let em know your car make etc. It's really not that difficult a replacement. Just unbolt the other sash clip (assuming it's still intact) and pull the window out. Then get your hands on a heat gun and razorblade and CAREFULLY heat and carve away at the epoxy holding the clip to the window. If I remember correctly about 350 degrees is enough to soften the epoxy. If you heat too much, you risk cracking the glass, so don't overdo it. When I did it, I also made a line with sharpie on either side of the sash clip so that i knew exactly where to attach the new clip. Once you have the old clip off, get some epoxy that'll bond to glass and plastic, and attach the new sash clip. Pop the window back in, rebolt, and you're done.

Ok,mad props to both of yall. But one last question just so I dont break nuthin:how do I remove the window glass and reattach the sash clips to the regulator? do I just slide the window plus new sashes into the regulator, or do i remove the regulator completely then add the glass? BTW,I think both sash clips are busted,as the window just slid up like it was free in the door well.

Plenty of threads on this dude.. tape the glass in the up position, change out the regulator, and reattach.

yeah, compared to driving an hour on the highway in Chicago winter with the window down ,the actual job will be a piece of cake.

I just posted how I fixed my issue like that in the linked thread. I wish I had pictures. Epoxy and braided steel cable. Works like a charm.
