The club was started by me and my Moderately modified Tempo and my buddies stock SL2. We met at McDonalds, our first job, and got to talkin about our cars and he wanted to race me, well, my Modded Tempo got its ass kicked. Then Brett w/ his Civic poped in, also employee at McDonalds, and my girlfriend and i met at McD's also... well, since those pics have been taken a year ago, things have changed....
My car, 1995 Mercury Mystique GS, stock till April...

I'm planning on showing my car in the All Ford Nationals this year, i showed the Tempo last year and placed 3rd. For the Mercury though, i'm gettin rims, new exhaust, and redoing my interior for the show...
Brett is planning on showing his Ion in the GM nationals this year, the only mod for the car will be rims...
Cal, well he wants to get a Mini Cooper, but if he doesnt, he's gonna show his Saturn in the GM nationals as well...
And as for Sadie, i'm taking her car for the GM nationals and she's gonna come w/ me to support the girls that are into cars. should be a fun summer.
We're planning on showing at some other shows aroudn the Lebanon/ Harrisburg area.

nice crew you guys have started. I had a club at one time also but everyone kinda split up after one season due to school, our lives, jobs etc etc. We plan on making a come back though this summer. It will be the first time in almost 5 years since we were all together. My clubs name was Rollin Thunder. I got that nick name for one my of my old tow trucks I owned. Anyways we as a club decided to use that name for our club being that most of us had loud cars/trucks and some crotch rockets. Like you guys we all grew up together, worked together ,school etc.

thats awesome man. it is a fun way to take our minds off of all the bull crap goin on around us, we work on the cars all day Saturday, then cruize the strip in the city at night. for having mostly stock cars, we have become pretty well known. We're a very close knit group, and do anything to back eachother up, and if u mess w/ one of us, u mess with all of us. Some have learned that the hard way.

You should call yourselves "Team MickeyD" and put golden arches on your windows. :D
When I read Omni I was hoping it was a GLHS or atleast a GLH.

yeah, all my buddies are into imports so they have their own clubs. i still hang around with them cuz they are my bros, but i pretty much end up doing all the work on my car alone and then getting called in to do some bs work on my friend's 98 prelude

1992 ... first year for the V6, last year for the XR5 :(
Very rare car actually, only 189 were shipped to Canada (according to my research) and only 83 were standards :) ... great little car and goes like hell ... took it down the drag strip once and hit a 15.4 spinning all of first gear  ... anyway, it is just a little toy with only 35,000 miles on it (kept indoors and driven on sunny days :))

I THINK I LOVE YOU, and not in a gay way....
The car is georgous. Man, idk what i'd do to be able to have 200,000 less miles on my car... or, just to have it back, its been crushed....

Your friend will love the ecotec in the ion much more then the 1.9 in the SC2. I owned 2 ford contours if they are taken care of they are decent my first one of great second one was :shit:. BTW for those that don't know contour and mystique = same thing

My wife had a black one when we first met, and my parents used to own one when I was about 7 years old. Can't say either was quick at all.

Good to see that those cars are void of ridiculous stickers and the like... that's rare, especially in PA.

Which V6 did they use? The Vulcan?

The 1.9 DOHC isn't bad either... pretty flat torque curve for an engine that small. Used to drive my ex's 2000 SL2 frequently.
Decent? Ehh... I disagree. It seems like every time I touched my mom's 98 Mystique LS (Duratec V6 auto) something broke... shift interlock, gas filler flap, sun visor, wheel bearing noise, replacing all 4 (4!!) O2 sensors every 60K, and the time I drove it for 10 minutes and all the water pump vanes actually sheered off. Oh... and this is almost comical... SES light on, after scan it had so many codes that the place asked if they could use it as an example to train employees on advanced FI powertrain troubleshooting. I think that car was the reason my parents actually switched to foreign cars.

Sweet. That looks really fun. I wish I wasn't the only one of my friends that liked his car. None of my friends are car people at all. :-/
Nice Tempo. My friend used to have a Topaz, but it was a major POS - mostly due to its owners.

My 95 was owned by a mechanics daughter but being my first car I messed it up pretty bad. My 98 was the same way blew a transmission, timing belt, 2 axels and the list goes on.

Crushed ... BUMMER!!!!!!!!
Oh, did I mention it also has the optional interior too?? ... grey with red beading around the various portions of the seat (well, I don't know if it was actual optional or not but most other interiors I have see were all one color but mine is two) ... also, it has a sunroof :) ... the aftermarket style but it was installed at the factory, even has a Ford part number on it (that and I was there when they unloaded it off the truck, brand new, ... 20 minutes later, it was mine :)) ... always liked the little car and there aren't many 'normal' Tempos / Topazs around anymore so it makes it even more of a rarity ... I'm all excited now, might have to go look at it

^^That's really cool that you are keeping it safe in storage. Tempos/Topazes as a whole are downright rare now.
My g/f has a 92 Topaz. I can't say its much to drool over though. Her great grandma died last year and it was willed to her...had 39k miles on it.
