It's not mine and not my job, but I thought that this detail was amazing and that is was worth sharing. Doesn't even look like it's the same car.
It is a 2000 Grand Am SE sedan with about 76000 miles.

I wonder what the prices are for auto-detailing in these parts. VERY nice work. Bonus is that red is my favorite colour. ;)

I saw that yesterday... it was wierd to see a Grand Am among Porches and Audis.
Very nice work, but I'd love to see the interior before and afters. He said the inside was as bad as the outside.

I wouldn't care much about what "gloss" he used (I think you mean LSP though?) I would care about the prep. That is text book work, and a good example of why I want to pick up a Makita or some other rotary.

That buffer you got is most likely a cheapy from a place like autozone, it wont do much other than apply wax or a sealant.

Same here. The dealership I worked at did detailing pretty well, but they were more just cleaners, not paint correction people.

I want to learn to do paint correction but right now it is still too cold to do it properly. Anyone have ideas on how to practice so I don't mess up the paint on mt car. I'm thinking just use my mom's old Carravell or find an old fender or something. I don't know I will think of something...

Give it a few more weeks... you guys hit +8 C the other day no? I haven't tried polishing in a temp range like that but I'll probably be trying it within the 30 days heh.
To practice just go get an old door or something from a wrecker if you can't find a donor vehicle. The PC is pretty safe though, I went right at er on my car and essentially learned on mine.

Ya we got as high as 10 degrees on Friday and I don't think it will get any lower than that during the day. It's only a matter of time until summer gets here, I can't wait:cool: I was thinking of practicing on an old door so I will probably do just that thanks for the response.

Is it still illegal to buy beer for an under aged person, if the under aged person is just going to give it to a person of age as a gift??

Yes, at least it is in Ohio. Its the same with smokes, if you use your ID to buy something for an underager and they get caught and finger you you can end up with probation, fines, jail time, etc. :roll2:

i got a little 6' porter cable buffer for x-mis this year. and i got some turtle wax pads for it to, i want to learn how to use it. what would i put on the turtle wax pads to make it look like your car. i mean i usually wash and dry the car, the wax the whole car then do the rims and tires. what steps do i take to like make the scratches go away and that black spots on my paint like your buddy had on his GA

You just asked 1000+ questions right there
Its much more complicated than that.
Read through this site a couple times, it will explain everything.

What do you mean turtle wax pads? Turtle wax only makes hand applicators pads.

ok i got a 6' buffer for x-mis but it dosnt have any speed settings on it. all it has is a on and off switch. so im going to take that back and get a buffer like the Porter-Cable 7424 6" Random-Orbit Polisher Buffer. tell me if it is good.
and those turtle wax pads i was talking about, they are turtle wax 5'-6' cotton terry bonnets. so tell me if those are good too.
and coupe, i have turtle wax ice liquid wax for like normal waxing but let me know what kind of wax is should buy to use on this power buffer and what kind of scratch remover. my bad for all the questions im asking
