We have some dirt in front of the house for landscaping that is surrounded by 4 orange street cones so people won't run over it. Yesterday the cones were out in the middle of the road and this morning when I went out to my car there were two infront of my rear bumper and two in front of my front bumper.
I thought, haha funny, somone is playing a Friday the 13th prank on me. But that wasn't the end of it. I went to the gas station to fill up and top of my oil and when I went to check my tire pressure I found that the right front stem cap would not budge. I even tried pliers and a screwdriver to no avail.
So I drove down to Peerless Tire Co. and told them what was up. They replaced the stem and removed the cap from the old stem and showed me where it was deliberately glued. Not cool. Cost me an hour and 5 bucks because of some stupid prank. At least the didn't do all four or let any air out of my tires.
Still pisses me off because you don't mess with someone's ride like that! There were some kids running around my neighborhood late at night last night and no doubt it was one of them that did it. Next time I see them I'm gonna make them fork over the 5 bucks they owe me :P

5 bucks?? that is it?? that sucks that you had to mess around with that, but at least it was a cheap fix. there are lots of things they couldda done that would have cost a LOT more than 5 bucks!

I know, but it was a stupid thing for them to do, especially if I find out which one of them did it, or maybe I'll just kick all their butts. a little mass punishment for the neighboorhood vandals.
here's a pic, a little blurry, but you can see the white part that is the glue and how I had to shred the stem to get the cap off.

It sucks but I agree that in general terms it's pretty funny...
At least they didn't put sugar in your gas tank or anything really bad like that.

That is a reason I would never get nice, chrome caps, they would get stolen like crazy...... just the idea that someone else went to my car and took something, touched it or did something to something that is not theirs pisses me off.
Although my car has a "hidden" type of gas cap, in that there is no lip to open it with, it is flush, looks like it is remote relase, but it's not, you just push the edge where it is hinged, I stil got a locking gas cap on it, becuase I don't want another person getting acess to my car in anyway.

They run their asses off to get out of my way,i luahged so hard and just rolled on....
And on the thing about the gas caps,my friend re-did his whole gas door, hes hinging his tailight so he just opens the side tail light and boom, theres the gas cap.(hes got a 93 accord)

That's kinda like the Cadillac Broughams, the gas nozzle is acutally behind the license plate, it is hinged and on springs, so when you get gas, you just "pull" the plate down, adn there it is (has a lip so you can rest the cover thingy in it and it'll hold the whole plate down. Few neat things about that:
1) It dosn't matter what side at the pump you go, it is in the center of the back of the car.
2) the car looks more clean, no gas door on the side to see etc...
3) Theft protection, unless someone has a Brougham, or knows about it, they would never think to move the license plate..... you can't tell just by looking at it that it is behind it.

That reminds me of the scene in "Vaction" where Chevy Chase rips the license plate off the Family Truckster looking for the gas door.

Why aren't all of your babies in the garage where they should be ? Yes, even though it is summer, acid rain can come and if you drive a white ga, that is what those little rust dots are from. ;)

um maybe because some of us dont have a garage or dont have room it from other peoples vehicles in there?
and rick alot of older vehicles had the gas stem hid behind the plates so anyone that has been near an older car can figure that one out.

you need to buy a set of these they are anti theft you need a special tool to put them on and take them off had them on the car for about 1.5 months and no problems.

Yeah, and a 12 y/o kid, or even most older teens for that matter would have no idea where it is...... most people today aren't around older cars that much anymore....it's a shame.

in replies to the gas stem behind the license plate... I follow the rule of if there isn't a door for it, and it looks like an "uncle buck" car than it is likely behind the plate lol:) not that I superglue that crap... I have better things to do and spend money on...

yes it is a shame but here in my town there are so many cars around that you just see them at the gas pumps and are like oh its behind the plate if you dont know squat

It just might piss them off enough that they'll slash your tires because they can't get the caps off...
Can never tell what people's reaction might be anymore
