Wiring?

From my engine back to almost the amp i'm running 4 gauge wire. But i ran short so i went into a Distribution Block and came out with a 8 gauge wire. My question , is this causing a bottle neck effect so my amp isn't getting as much power because of this? And is there a big enough differance to even bother? And anyone know were in the firewall i can get through on a 2002 se?

with 1 or 2 feet it shouldnt matter. and in my first car i had 10 guage runnin to the back to a 600w rms and never melted the wire so i dont think u will have a prob.

Yes.. it depends on how long your wires are going to be.. One problem is that basically.. the thicker the wire.. the more power that can go to your amp. Now depending on how powerful your system is.. this can have a sizeable effect on how much power your amp is getting.
