As you can see I have a 2001 SE1 Grand Am. I just installed a CAI for it, my first one ever!

When I go to start the car I have to hold the key in start a little bit longer now, is this normal?

Is it normal to hear the pistons moving as if they were out in the open and not inside the engine at 2K + rpms?

Also, I went to autozone and got the civic intake but when I ask for a K&N cone they only had one and the opening was 3 1/4 which means it was bigger then the pipe, so I was forced to get a cone that goes with the intake which I heard suck?

Where and what model K&N cone do I need?

Thanks

Update:

I went and washed my car just a few mins ago and thought I check under the hood before leaving, well there was some water drops on the intake pipe and I could se drops on top of the filter as well. I'm not sure if any managed to get the sides of the cone wet, what do you guys think?

I also had problems starting my car and the problem was it simple wouldnt start. I had to try 3 times with the 3rd time having my foot somewhat on the gas for it to start.

Any ideas what the problem is? At first I thought it was the fuel filter which Im going to change next week but Id like to hear some other ideas as well.

Thanks again

about the starting problem. I have that too with no CAI or WAI. That, supposedly, is due to a dirty throttle body. So I am going to clean it and find out. As for your other problems i cant help you there.

Sorry for the ugly comment, Iv only been able to get 2-3 hours of sleep a day for the last week and working a 10 hour shift doesnt help.

Is it easy to clean the throttle body? What would I use?
