I highly suggest 225/35/20
I dont think theres enough room to fit a 40 Plywall under there

the first number is the width of the tire its not going to give you anymore cushion the middle number is the one you want to make a little higher

I know that,, that is why i want 35 not 30,,, but the 225 is not wide enough as the lip aticks way out

shoulda gotten a rim thats more narrow like a 20x7.5 or 20x8 you could probably fit a better tire on that

lil bit not as much as you would think,,, i mean potholes any bigger then 3/4 tire and you gotta be carefull anything bigger and move or be moved,,, but hiend sight is 20/20 i still love them,, waiting for new 245 30 20 to come in cause they are much to skinny for rim,,, it is costing me 280.00 with my old rubber so not so bad still paid under 2000 after this wicked deal,,, let u know if i wreck one lol

245 should be better, Personally i would of went 245/35/R20
GinoGrandAm
03-23-2008, 02:08 PM
thanx,,, but i belive 35 would hit,, as right now i have 1/2" to bottom of susspension in rear just a 225 35 would bring it up just over 1/2 where 245 30 only raises it a 1/4 side wall and .79 total hieght plus 1/2" or more wide so should fit i think
btw, r u from oakville ontario?

what tire size you putting on again? i have 245/35/20 and it stick out a little
GinoGrandAm
05-29-2008, 11:07 PM
wow they fit i am surprised... mine now sit on 245/30/30 and are mint, no problems on anypotholes, but they rub ever so slighty at full turn on one piece of fton rubber wheel well. +35 Offset they don't stick out at all,, sit perfect slightly inside just like stock really except they fill the well
wow they fit i am surprised... mine now sit on 245/30/30 I'm surprised those fit .... ;)

I wouldn't go to a 35 series tire on a 20" wheel, especially if you are going to a wider tire.
Stock GA size represents about a 24.9-25" over all diameter. With your 225/30R20s you are already sporting at minimum .5" taller.
A 225/35R20 will give you roughly a diameter of 26.3"s, a 1.3" incress over stock. Let alone a 245/35R20 will be about 26.8"s... going to start looking a bit Donkish until you lower the car to compensate.
the first number is the width of the tire its not going to give you anymore cushion the middle number is the one you want to make a little higher
That isn't correct.
The first number is the width, correct.
However the second number is the aspect ratio (read: height). It's basically a perecentage of the tires section width repesented as sidewall height.
For example, a 225/30R20 has a overall diameter of about 25.5". Step up to a 245/30R20 and the diameter grows to 25.8"
So it actually does effect the height.
