Let me know what you think!:D

P.S As i was out taking pictures a came across this beautiful Hawk, thought i would post some pictures of him too:lol:

P.S.S yes i know i spelt opinion wrong hahahaha, i hit post before i could fix it! oh well:lol:

I think that the Grand Am's look really nice completely de-badged. And besides, who doesn't know what a Grand Am looks like?

haha, your a funny one jewel, but what i suggest is like everyone else, i would say either debadge the whole car, or instead of popping the original gt back on, get one of those vinyl stickers so it has that flush look, and then debadge the rest of the car. haha but finally i get to see these infamous pics that uve had me waiting for for basically 2 days, haha jk jk. but i like it very much, and good job with the tails!!

If you like the "GT" may I suggest debadging the whole car and using overlay decals from say GrafxWerks.com?

The badges are hard to clean around, towels snag on them, etc. Just using a decal give a smoother profile while keeping your logos, and you can have them in any color combination you wish. I think black reflective on a black car looks great. Had some black reflective decals on our black GT, also have purple on the black which IMO looked pretty good too.

Oh, and I love the spoilerless trunk lid!

BTW, black GTs are the best. :D

I think if you do put the 'GT' back on place it underneath the trunk lock in the center of the trunk, might look ok

Debadge the whole car - provides a nice cleaner look and will be easy to wash.

The hawk pictures are neat :lo: - How close were you to it :???:

:welcome:

The car looks nice and clean - do you have anymore plans for it :???:

Good point about it being easy to wash....as for the hawk, i was about 4ft from it lol, he was having dinner on the side of the road.....

Yes i have more plans for it! Defiantly a paint job, haven’t quite decided what exact colour yet...i want to get the ram air hood, new exhaust, sound system....you know all that good stuff!

Any suggestions are welcome!

I'm with John on this one, if you want the badge just put the vinyl on by itself, much smoother. That was my plan when I got the car painted, but then I fell in love with the smooth look. It's very reasonably priced, and I see your from Ontario so shipping will be very fast.

de-badge the whole car... don't put just a GT anywhere on OR inside the car (as some people have de-badged the outside and they'll put it inside under the air bag, etc)... Cleaner looking w/ no badging, AND it's easier to clean & wax :)

I agree about the mirriors! I think i am going to go with leaving the GT on the back...but i wont put it on ubtill after i get the paint job done....and i haven't exactly decided what i am going to do with that either haha:lol:

Wait...paint? Why repaint it? The paint looks good from the pics you posted. Just have it waxed and compounded. Nothing a good detail job won't fix. Also, any engine mods done to your GT?

I could do that, I was thinking about painting it a really deep deep green so that you could only tell in the light but it you weren't looking for it, it would look black....or i just might keep it black lol....no no engine mods yet...i need to look into that a little bit further...I dont have to much to spend at one time so thats why i hgave been doing things gradualy...i just baught headlights to...i'll have pics of those soon...any suggestions for the engine mods??

Save yourself the hassle, and just keep the paint the way it is. As for engine mods, start with an intake and exhaust system. CAI's are easy to make yourself, but you'll have to get the stock ram air box out of the way. Exhausts, they make bolt on system for the GAGT, but they tend to be around $400-600. I recommend you do what I did, go with a muffler or glasspack, and get some exhaust tips and have a shop weld up a system for you. Mine only cost me $180, I used a Cherry Bomb glasspack, with squared off single outlet dual exhaust setup. They also sound good with Flowmaster 40 and 80 series mufflers.

I know Im a little late but as John mentioned about the vinyl instead of badges. Here are some examples on my car. You still represent what you have and keep a nice clean look.

Ok I like the look of the badges but they are a PITA to clean around. I would try something different, get reflective Black Grand Am's and Reflective Red GT's then put an accent color behind them like silver or white, something to make them stand out a little bit so it's not just black on black.

Thats a great idea! I was thinking something like that ... or i was thinking just and outline of the GT so it looks filled in black with an outline.

Shadow-D
04-22-2008, 03:47 PM
The hard part is going to be getting the background vinyl. Customgrandam can sell you the overlays but you are going to have to go to a "sign shop" to get the outline. Don't forget to bring the new vinyl with you to the shop so they can measure it correctly.

Trudgn
04-22-2008, 05:22 PM
If you do want to go the above mentioned route with the bigger vinyl behind, and you're ever in the London area, send me a message. I work at a 'sign shop' and can probably get you a pretty good price.

ill throw in this idea, get the grafxwerks bordered decals. i had them on my black sc/t. silver border with reflective black insert. so during the day, there you will only see the silver border and at night, when light reflects off it, youll see the lettering. heres the closest pic i have of them

hey instead of getting a whole paint job, you can keep your black and just have them reclear it with green pearl. that way if u see it in the sun or light you'll see the green but out of the sun youll see black. if you were in my area id hook you up lol. all they have to do is wetsand the car throw some pearl in the 1st coat of clear then 1-2 more regular coats of clear after. shouldnt cost to much and still get the look that you wanted with out a whole new paint job. as far as badge wise the grey outline with reflective black would be hot
