Questions on 2002 GT Ram Air

I just bought a 2002 Red GT. I'm wondering if it has the wrong side mirrors? It has the black oval type mirrors (like on the SE) instead of the twin-post type painted the same as the body color. Did all GT's have the twin-post type?
It also has the ram air style hood. Is the ram air hood an aftermarket or factory supplied. I didn't find it on the Pontiac factory brochure option list.

The newer GTs like yours came with the black oval type mirrors. A lot of us around here refer to them as the "mickey mouse" mirrors. :P

And the hood is more than likely factory.

Sounds like you have the factory SC/T package.Your 'Ram Air' hood is actually just an SC/T package hood. Yes, its factory. Your rear spoiler will also be different from other Grand Am's

There was no SC/T "package". They were options you could get. The rear spoiler had to be chosen as an option so it's possible he has the hood but not the spoiler.

I checked my 2002 sales brochure. There is only one style of mirror listed. They are called "Sport" mirrors. The basic SE has manual mirrors. All others have powered mirrors.

Every photo of the SE shows the black oval mirrors. Every picture of the GT shows the body colored dual post mirrors.

It could be that a previous owner sold or traded the original mirrors before selling the car.

thats right all 99 to 02 and some 03 GA's came with the duel post mirrors. 03 and after have the mickey mouse mirrors like on mine..lol I really need a set of good ones.

Ok the VERY simple way to say this is that you basically have a 2002.5.

You have a late 2002 year car and on all those cars they changed the dual post color match mirrors to the mickey mouse mirrors.

Yep. Late 02 model.

You can get the dual post style though on ebay. A number of the mickey mouse owners switched to duals.

The mirrors were changed late in the 02 model year to use up all the crappy looking Alero mirrors.
