My 96 ga has a really bad vibration when i get up to 50 MPH to the point where it feels like the whole car is going to rattle apart. is there any way wheels need to be rebalanced cause that is the answer i get from every one. I have 17" focal rims on it (if that matters) for the past 9 months. I had the rims mounted and balanced at the local tire retailer. but the problem seemed to start after i got my engine mounts redone about 2 weeks ago. any ideas are better than the half ass answers i get from most people.

Broken belts or flat spots in tire(s), bent wheel, wheels out of balance, alignment, warped rotors, wheel bearings...hit any potholes lately?

i am very careful when it comes to potholes since these rims are still pretty new, rotors are maybe 5 months old, same with brakes. i really don't know any more as soon i fix one problem the same problem happens again ( just my luck i guess ). but the bearings i haven't replaced in a while so it could be that.
Check to see if a balance weight has come off one of the wheels .... ;)

We're prolly gonna give you the same half-assed advice you've gotten from other knowledgeable people:
Have the tires balanced.
1. A vibration that occurs around 50-65 in a passenger car is almost always related to tire balancing. It just is.
2. You had new tires and rims balanced and installed 9 months ago, so mebbe 9k miles on these.
* Most tire dealers want you to come in every 5k miles for a re-balance.
After that much rubber has worn (about 1/8 of the rubber that will wear during 40k tire life), the 'balance' of each tire/wheel assembly changes.
Not much, but a tad that can be noticable.
* Rims/tires are balanced with weights on both the inside and the outside of each assembly. It's very tough to inspect the insides of the rims.
And if it's been like this for a couple weeks, all traces of former (lost) weight may no longer be visible.
* Internal damage (separating belt, or whatever) will affect the balance bu not be viisible; the balance machine can find it.
