93 SE Quad4 Thermostat Location

I searched around, and could not find a definite answer to my question.
I have a 1993 GA SE Quad4 2.3L 4cyl. I just bought this car in the middle of the week, and the previous owner said it was in need of a thermostat. So, i went and bought a t-stat and gasket, popped the hood, and ??????? Where is the t-stat on my motor? i figured it would be at the motor on the end of the upper rad hose, but no. Help!!

I'm pretty sure it is on the back part of the engine right below the water pump. well it is on the 2.4 any way.

Found it!

It was where it is supposed to be, at the end of the upper radiator hose. just didn't look hard enough for the housing.

93 and older = in coolant outlet that sticks out of the drivers side of the head.
94-95 (and 96+ LD9) = underneath the water pump
