Well I just got home from one of the biggest car shows in Indiana. Figured Id post up a few pics.
I took home one of the top awards in the show. A special award for best sport compact. And took 2nd in my class.
Also hannah aitchison from the show LA Ink was there and her booth was right next to our cars so I asked her if she could take a picture with my car. shes definitely hot.

Yeah he did, it was awesome watching it step by step. I'm glad you listened to me on those headlights, they look great. Now all you need to do is clean up that engine, drop it, and maybe some underbody.

The vented fenders definatly set it apart from a normal GA with custom paint, sure its got the kit but those fenders sure make a difference IMO.

Yea that was one of the most commented things on the car at the show. I really wanted to enter this show just to hear what peoples reactions were so I can see which direction I want to take the car.
Lookin good.....congrats!!!
Thank you

I still have the black and orange one, this is my other Grand Am. The black and orange car is getting the sc/t kit once I get the kit painted.

lol Yea I did, but once I got this painted I really didnt want to put stock wheels on it. So I just gotta stick with what I already have, and luckily they still look good on this car too. Eventually Ill get new wheels for it but I got a list of stuff with higher priority.

congrats on the awards. I really dig the direction youve gone with the car. a show car needs to have a paint job that is tasteful yet says "hey get your ass over here and look at me!!!"
good job on that. if you need tips for making your engine bay pop give me a shout.

Did you pop the hood at all or did you lose points automatically because you didn't show the engine bay?
GtAudioFreak

automatically since i didnt show it.
Thats why it sounds weird that I placed 2nd in my sport compact GM class but yet I won best sport compact in the whole show. Im pretty sure its because of different judging rules.

Do they base engine bay judging on dress up, mods, and all that non-sense. I mean can you have a really clean engine bay with no mods and still do well?

Who ended up purchasing the Eclipse? That car has been around for quite some time and I have competed against him at shows in the NCCA. That car origionally came from Maryland. Also, where did you purchase your car from and who did the work?

I don't think its necessarily the amount of mods you have done, but cleanliness and probably anything that can attract attention like powder coating valve covers and uim and stuff like that helps. Im not 100% but Im pretty sure thats how it works.

Yea I remember hearing him say something about it being around the east coast for awhile. Although I think he actually bought it from someone in Florida off ebay. My friend John bought it. It now has 600+ hp and he redid the paint job, but other than that its pretty much the same as when he bought it.
I bought my car from a member on here out of Indianapolis. Mac00GT is his user name. all the body work and paint was done by the guy who owns the eclipse, he just does cars in his spare time in his garage. If you look in my pics he also did the Civic that is parked with us. He does amazing work for really good prices. He had 5 cars there that he painted and all 5 of us took home trophies.

you are SOOOO lucky with that car. I am having a hell of a time getting my current engine bay to the standards that i feel i got my grand am one to. you dont have an ECU under the hood, nor all of the wires. its just a mater of getting the braided hose covers (i got mine at pep boys), taylor spark plug wires, and some high heat paint. I used silver to brighten up the exhaust manifold and all visible piping, polished the MAF and TB, and then painted the manifold and valve cover.
ill also suggest stainless steel bolts to replace all bolts under the hood, make sure they are polished.
some basic mods that need to have are: CAI, spark plug wires, and optima battery. some good ideas to have are headers, supercharger, and grounding kit. of course the s/c and headers are very costly so those arent a necessity, but itll help you at domestic shows and of course any pontiac specific shows. the rest I can help you with over PM or email or phone.
