I'm in a quandry, neither of the cooling fans in my 2000 SE 4 cyl work. I can get them to work if I put power directly to the fans. I have also checked the relays according to the Haynes repair manual and they check out fine. The engine temp climbs rapidly to 200 degrees and stays there but the fans do not work. I have tried everything I can think of short of running wires to the fans from a manual switch ( which I'm not to fond of). Any ideas?

sounds like its a wire between the fans and the relay, but i'm not sure as to where they run them. Do the wiggle test. with the car on and up to temp wiggle the wires and see if the fans cut in. or maybe the sending unit for the water temp in not working right.
