Howdy,

Something leaks in my GA and I haven't been able to figure out what. Any time it rains, I end up with a pool of water on the floor behind the driver's seat.

This is NOT while the car is in motion but while it's just sitting parked.

It seems to be leaking somewhere around the driver's side door as there is water at the bottom of the door on the plastic part.

I can't really tell where it might be coming in from so is there anything I can look at that might normally cause this like a broken rubber piece somewhere?

This is the 2-door model. It's raining all day today so I'm sure there will be a nice lake when I go out after work.

I'm thinking about drilling a hole in the damn floor to act as a drain or something since I can't seem to make it stop...

Thanks.

hmm, do you, or don't you have a sunroof ? Two of the drains from the sunroof run down inside the body and are supposed to go out through the inner wall to drain .... just a thought FWIW

I do have the factory sunroof. I didn't know it had a drain in it since it seems to seal pretty good when it closes itself.

Any idea where these drains are located exactly?

IIRC, there are four drain lines, one at each corner they run down the "A" and "C" pillars behind the plastic interior liners. I'll check the service manual tonight for more details
Also, as I re-read your post, I'm wondering whether you have a leak in the driver's door window seal ....

Rule number 1 never buy a car with or destroy a car or truck by putting in a sun roof.
Always remember anytime a hole of any sort is cut or drilled in the roof, it becomes someplace for water to leak in. This also includes the stupid On Star spy system as well.

1. Remove door panel.
2. Remove white plastic dam.
3. Clean adhesive off inside of door and plastic dam.
4. Put new adhesive on plastic dam.
5. Secure plastic dam to door.
6. Replace door panel.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 on passenger door.

I have the same problem....water gathers on the seal on the bottom then it leaks into thr back..ive tried replacing the weather stripping but its just a waste of money.. i tried putting a hole where the water gathers and that seams to work.

It's not the weatherstripping. Didn't you read what I wrote? It's the water dam underneath the door panel.

nlm612,
I have the exact same problem! My GA is a 2 door and i found water in the same areas!
I am not brave enough to tackle the door panel removal.
I am going to take mine to a auto glass repair shop in the next few days.
I will let you know the results.
Best Regards,
Andrew
P.S. I do not have a sunroof! I had the window regulator replaced last year;i think the water dam is off.

nlm612,
I went to the auto glass repair shop this morning. As luck would have it;it rained last night! The technician was busy, however he said the best time to diagnose a leak is when it is raining. He took a look at the leak and said"The white plastic vapor barrier is leaking. The door cover has to come off and the barrier needs to be re-sealed!"
Andrewe is 100% correct!
I have to make an appointment next week to get it done.
Will update when complete.
Best Regards,
Andrew.
P.S If you want to do it yourself, there is a web site with full detail with pictures at
