I am getting my car ready to sell and I'm trying to work out all the weird noises and annoyances. The one that is bugging me right now is when I go in reverse to pull out of my driveway and then go forward, or if I am leaving a parking space in the same manner, if I have to stop within a short distace I hear a thud or a pop noise. I can't really tell where its coming from and there is nothing in my car or trunk that would be making the noise. This only happens the first time I take my car out for the day, it will not happen the rest of the day even if I leave my driveway again. Suggestions?

Is it possible that your parking brake is stuck on your rear wheels after sitting for awhile? Maybe it is being freed up after you start moving and then pops loose inside the rear rotors.

Try leaving your parking brake off next time you leave it overnight. See if it makes the sound in the morning.

I know that shouldn't be it, I never use my parking brake.
