Just hold on tight im working on the neon rear disk swap that many jbody guys have gotten working.

Yeah there's the Neon swap but the parts are hard to find and you will have to have them drilled/cut by a machine shop (unless you can do this yourself) in order to fit. It could be a cheap rear disc upgrade though. Lots of J-body owners have done it as Ralph mentioned.

There's also the Baer kit which seems to be cheapest at RK Sport but it's still a hefty $1200, unfortunately. Doing this upgrade without doing anything to the fronts will actually make the rear brakes a few tenths of an inch bigger than the fronts as well. Though you're going to have to adjust the proportioning either way when changing from drums so it doesn't really matter.

The other thing with the Baer kit is that you'll need 16" or larger wheels I believe and I'm not sure if the stock 16s on the GT qualify or not. (You'll have to ask Baer for the template/measurements.)

There is a huge write up on J-body.org right now my parts are still stilling at my buddies house waiting to get machined. Once that project gets on his bench we'll supply all the info on the 4th gens and possibly have a few brackets machined that will bolt up without you needing to do any modifications yourself.
