Okay, so I had a Kenwood amp hooked up in the trunk, it had speaker level inputs so I tapped into the rear deck speaker and everything was peachy. I bought a LOC in anticipation of getting a more powerful Rockford Fosgate amp, which did not have the SLI's. Just for my own amusement, I hooked up the LOC and connected it to the Kenwood. It worked right then, so I didn't think anything of it. Until the next day, when I started my car and nothing happened in the trunk. No bass, nothing. So, I popped the trunk to see if something had come loose, when the amp powered on and worked fine. It worked fine, so I decided to test something. I shut off the car, opened the doors and shut of the radio. Started the car back up and the amp was working fine again. Problem solved, I thought. If the car sits for more than about 20-30 minutes, the amp won't power on until I pop the trunk after the car is started. If i pop the trunk before I start the car it won't turn on at all, even after I close and reopen the trunk several times. I didnt have any problems using the SLI's on the Kenwood, so I attribute this problem to the LOC. Now the RF amp is hooked up and I'm stuck having to open my trunk everytime I start my car to get the amp to power on. The wierd thing is, if I move the selection switch on the side of the LOC, I can hear it selecting and popping on the sub. Just ain't getting any sound from it. Then I have to close the trunk, wait a little bit, then start the car, and pop the trunk and reclose it so I can have the sub playing. Now, I'm faced with a couple of ideas. Is this a ground problem seeing as everytime I alter the condition of the trunk space by opening the trunk lid the amp turns on? (BTW, the amp is grounded to a bolt behind the carpeting in the trunk, below where the tail light mounts are.) Or, does anyone think this is a problem with the LOC? Or, could it be possible that the remote wire could have something to do with it all? The remote wire is connected at the windshield wiper fuse (the only one I could find that was accessory and high enough amperage). If anyone has any ideas, I'm eager to see them. Oh, and I have the Monsoon radio, if that has any bearing on anything.
