Monsoon Bass Limiter?

04 GAGT... It has the Monsoon system and I love it, but I installed a coupke dual voice coil 12's in the wife's 01GASE and I really kinda miss that brain rattling bass. My question is with the systems stock amp.

I notice I can pretty well crank the Monsoon to max with the hardest hitting country music you can imagine (and yes other bassier types of music lol)and I get little to no distortion.

Does the Monsoon system use a crossover style limiter in that it digitally removes the low bas, say anything below 50Hz? And if so, is it the HU or the AMP that does this? If it's the amp, then I'm not complaining. But if it's the HU then I guess I'll have to replace it...

I'm guessing it's the amp because many members have installed subs on the stock Monsoon with no problems. Just hook the LOC to the HU before it goes to the amp, otherwise you're sending extra power to the sub amp, which could cause distortion.
