I have the day off so i am going to detail the entire car. Quick question though!

Should i claybar the car first or wax it first?

Of course i wash it thoroughly first

Yeah the clay bar gets that little stuff like tar and sap and weird other things that a simple car wash can't. These particles sit above the clear coat or almost in it depending on how long its been there. A polish will help with some slight swirl marks and some oxidation and a final wax will seal in the polish. You can do a cleaner wax too but I find that makes a long detail day....haha. Clay bars are great though.

For more details and buffing and things check out autopia.com. They have a lot of threads on there and pics.

Kinda pointless to wax before using the claybar. Its kinda like putting your jeans on before your underwear. The claybar removes everything from the paint, including wax.
