I think this might be the right place for this question. Has anyone used Taylor Spiro Pro Spark Plug Wires as seen on customgrandam.com. I guess I'm concerned with the quality. Or are spark plug wires just spark plug wires?

I've seen all different plug wires used.... Wires are wires.. I mean they all use copper conductors, but what differs is the insulation and construction, so there is a difference, but with two sets of new wires you wont notice a difference really.. if you swap your old wires with some Good quailty wires, you'll notice a better idle.... and they should last longer and prevent spark leaking through the wire insulation to the engine.... It's when you do the whole igniton package you should be able to tell, MSD Igniton Box, MSD Coil Packs, MSD Wires, And some good plugs < If you can still get your hands on the Old AC Delco Plugs that are Garunteed for like 100,000kms but I think they stoped making them.

agreed. they help your other. ignition upgrades perform better. your really not going to get much with them by themselves. probobly not even 1 hp. but they look nice as hell in there for 60 bucks. its worth it for a visual upgrade to brighten up your engine bay. i never had a problem with mine and they are still nice bright blue and look great.

I just changed my OEM out for a set of used Taylors. Seems to be a little better, but then again the OEM wires were 7 years old. And, I noticed a bit of corrosion on the coil towers and sanded them up so they're shiny.
I would attribute the better "feel" to just the fact the wires are newer and with the coil towers now clean. ;)

For a relatively stock engine with a few bolt ons like intake, exhaust, etc, the performance wires like Taylor and MSD are really for looks and to replace old wires. If you had a need for more ignition then yes, they would help, but the 99+ GA has a good ignition setup as it is.

Guys are making 500+ hp in the Grand Prix's and I'm in the 250 range with the GA using "Factory GM" wires. They are all you need in these cars unless it's a visual upgrade your looking for. I wouldn't fall for the Iridium plugs and crap like that either. If the plug burns too hot you'll just get knock and the vcm will pull timing as a result. This is why some of the "generic" tunes you can get will actually make your car slower because they have increased the timing too much and the car will overcompensate and pull up to 15* timing!! One fellow I've talked to here put a "Performance *mail-order*" tune on his car and ran almost 2 seconds slower in the quarter as a result.
